  • Is this car worth 7k?

Red 1993 Z28 six speed with 42,000 miles

New parts at 39,000 miles include a new GM Optispark, new GM water pump, wires, plugs, belt, PCV, fuel filter, battery, fluids etc.

The suspension is Lingenfelter sway bars, a bigger panhard rod, SLP springs, and Doug Rippie revalved Bilsteins.

The car has Hotchkiss lower control arms and a Hotchkiss strut tower brace.

Performance modifications include a Hypertech chip that piggybacks on to the original, Callaway Honker cold air induction with K&N filter, and MSD ignition.

The car is beautiful and very clean, but the KBB value is pretty low. I have a budget of 10k but want to spend less. I myself really love the facelift that the 98+ F bods have, but this is low milage. Is it worth the price?

too much for a 93 IMO. I'd take a 96 or 97 with twice the miles for that price. If you like the LS1 style camaro's, you could find one for around 10K. Probably be a 98 though.

doesnt sound too bad.... but 93 parts are going to be difficult to come by shortly, manuf's are only required to produce o.e. parts for 7 yrs from production... but aftermarket picks up the slack pretty good.....

too bad your budget is 10k.........

        If that's what you want.

I paid $7500 for my car in early 2003 with similar miles. It looked nearly like showroom new.

I had my mind made up that I wanted a 6-speed LT1 convertible with less than 60,000 miles. I looked all over the country on Ebay and autotrader until I found this car. I watched similar cars sell for $10,000 and thought mine was a steal.

If the car speaks out to you, that is not too bad a deal. It is low miles after all. I'd offer $6,000 and see if they bite.

For the amount of work that's been done, I would understand some over blue book, but that's a little too much. Talk to the owner and see if he'll negotiate. $5000-6000 would be good I think. How come he replaced the opti so early? How new is the clutch? Just a couple things to think about.
