calling all UK F-bodies

Anyone out there with a 2000 shape T/A who has modded their lights for the SVA test, could you shed some light( pun intended ) on what you've done.
Preferably keeping as much of a stock look as possible.
Your help would be appreciated so I can plan my attack for when my new T/A arrives on these shores.

the trick is find some one with uk spec lights and borrow them for the sva then convert your revercing lampsto turn signals as these are to close together for the sva but fine for your mot and roberts your fathers brother you dont have to go to the expence of buying new rear lamps or hacking yous to bits. me personaly i would leave the rears red and just plead ingnorant once it is sva;ed they look much beter and grab your atention more than amber ones.

Are those things Right Hand drive? I've been to europe a few times but the last thing I's expect to see is a camaro going by. I wouldn't know whether to give the "thumbs up" or gun the engine at the light.

Thanks for replying,I really want a permanent solution especially as my brother is a Policeman!, I agree red all across looks better so I hope that changing the reverse lights will be ok.Infact when I MOT'd it last the tester rang the Ministry as to the location of the indicators, and they had no problem so hopefully the SVA guys wont be a**holes about them.

they can get quite funny about the distance between the indcators on the sva. try contacting keith kinget of the pdc and chat to him

no our cars are imports so they are left hand drive. and the best thing to do is give the thums up then gun it

so what have you brought then paul and when does it arive over here. also somthing else you may have to think about is thr door mirrors as i dont think they fold back under impact this will fail the sva test as well

Hi Bigtow, to answer your question the car is a 2001 Firehawk 10th Anniversary.
It will arrive in the second week of march.
This doesn't leave much time to get it ready for the SVA.
As regards to the mirrors I have heard of the fold back issue aswell but I have seen quite a few T/As with their original mirrors on so they can go to hell if they think I'm ripping off the original mirrors of a limited edition car!!!

what you tell them is that the mirrors are made to break off under impact. whear did you find the car? only i saw a one of those cars for sale in orlando last year at mc,namara pontiac

I saw it on E-bay, and when I asked the seller how much the reserve was he made me an offer I couldn't refuse!
It was lucky as it was on there for 1 day and he said his phone was red hot with interest.In fact I was looking/bidding for a 30th Anniversary with the Nascar markings but this Firehawk is much meaner.
I've included a picture for you and I hope to get it ready in time for you to see in the flesh.
