No question you do the Z. It isn't worth it, IMO, to modify a car that is already fast and ruin the warranty. It's funny I was just imagining today (daydreaming
) about owning a corvette... Would I want to modify it? I was thinking about the simple bolt ons I'd do. Put an exhaust and CAI and call it a day. But owning it is a different story... If I were in your shoes though I'd probably soupe up the raro. Just isn't worth it. If the vette goes kaput, you're out a lot of money. Those things aren't cheap to fix.

I would most definatly leave the vette alone and do up the Z. Warrenty is cool, replacing expensive parts from your pocket is not!

100% you mod the Vette. If you were to do the same mods to both Camaro and Vette, and the Vette will always be faster. (Unless you are talking about full-on 7 second drag cars).
Your Camaro is probably worth around $8-11K depending on mileage, what kind of shape it's in, etc... if you want to run deep into the 12s, you're going to have to invest almost half of what your car is worth. That just doesn't make any sense to me.
Then there's the "elite" factor... you know how we say, "no matter how fast your Civic is, it's still a Civic..." even if you mod the Camaro to be faster than the Corvette, it's still a Camaro... the same holds true.
Warranty Schmorranty...
MOD THE VETTE!!! You'll spend a heck of a lot less getting it into the 11s than you would on the Camaro.

There is no question about what would be faster, but why void your warrenty? Plus unless you want to go faster than 12 in the quarter whats the point? If you just drive it on the highway and around town, or play with the locals, the vette is fast enough. If you want to spend money whay not make the Z faster and be proud of both. Just due to the warrenty I would leave the vette alone. Or you could save all the money you would spend on the Z and save it till the vette is off warenty

In my personal opinion, the warranty really doesn't matter... if you do motor mods, that isn't going to stop the dealership for fixing something like a broken radio, or a dead window motor... the only thing motor mods would void the warranty on is the motor itself... and unless you thoroughly abuse your car, or if you are ridiculously unlucky, you just aren't going to run in to any mechanical problems with the LS1 motor in its first 36,000 miles.
Mod away

Let me throw this idea at you...........
Sell the Camaro FOR mod money for the Corvette????
Unless one of those is your daily driver or "beater"... why keep them both? But then again... if one was your beater, I don't think there'd be a question of which one to modify.Former Ride: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - 345 rwhp, 360 rwtq... stock internally.

The new Z06 isn't going to need DRs to hit 11s... but... where does the missing $30K come from????Originally posted by scotts94_z28I have the best idea out of everyone. Sell them both and buy the new Z06 and run in the 11's with DR.

Why stop there. My neighbor is building a guy a LS1 427 for his C5 Vette.Originally posted by Jay 02 TA ws6You should sell the Z28 and use the coin for a 408 build on the Corvette.
