you still owe it to yourself to try firefox..its free and its not linked to your computer. that way..say netscape is down, you always have a backup browser.

Firefox is made by some of the developers of Netscape. Its free and much safer than any other web browser, even with this scam. IE is not safe from the scam if you have the plugin for unicode domains installed. Another nice feature of Firefox is if you get the tabed browsing plugin you can open multiple websites(eg. MSN hotmail, Google, f-body.com, ebay, etc) and have them on tabs at the top of the page, for quick switching with out opening another browser as in IE. Google is also built in to the browser for quick searching. type your search and boom, a new tab opens with the results. It also has a bandwidth teser plugin, and many many other cool little toys. I just cant say enough about how good this browser is, and did I mention FREE!

I would buy a mac tomorrow if only there was more choises for software and games, and hardware, and.... well someday maybe, if they ever open them upto open market production. OSX based on free BSD is awsome, stable and user friendly, and the G5 processor rocks but to bad they have no games and gaming hardware, and I hate for parts to come out.

Ummm, define no games? Any game from Blizzard comes out on the Mac when it comes out for Wintel PCs. Macsoft and Aspyr bring out Wintel PC games for the Mac pretty soon after they come out in most cases. As far as upgrading the hardware, the only thing not upgradable is the motherboard, since the MB is the basis for the case design. I've upgraded the CPU in my machine in 3 min., installed an nVidia GeForce4 Ti 4600 GPU card a couple years ago and swapped my burner for a DVD burner a few months ago. As far as procedure goes, as of the past few years the Mac has been easier to upgrade than the PC. OS X is open-sourced, so that's not a problem either. The quantity of software available is Wintel-biased, but if you only need 5 apps and they're on the Mac, what's the problem? Besides, I'd rather use my Crapintosh than something running Macro$%^# Wind-blows Xtremely Pricey anyday lol

Well by parts I mean basicaly Video cards, as most everything else is built into a Mac. Ram of course is upgradable. CPU same. Video cards are another story, any card the comes out for the PC is at the very least a month behind on the mac. There isn't even a wide variety of choises. I hardly thing Blizzard is the only game company out there . As far as games go mac gets less tehn half the total games out for PC unless you want to run software to simulate a PC environment. I work for a school division that previously had no IT direction 5 years ago so each school bought there own computers, so we have a split of PC and Mac 50/50 right now. Anyone who says Macs dont crash as much as a PC is living in lala land. Macs are great to just set on a desk and run. PC require a little more setup but not much. XP is by far the best OS microcrap has ever put out, and is as stable as OSx in everything Ive seen. Prices may be more for software on a PC but at least PC users have a choise of what they want to buy, not so with a mac, you get what they want to give you and you pay a premium for the machine. total cost mac vs PC is really a moot piont in the end as mac hardware is more expensive, but PC OS is more expensive, it all evens out in the end. Its like ford vs Chev vs dodge.

Ummmmm, there's one possible flaw with the GPU argument. I believe, but can't confirm, that the nVidia 6800 card was a Mac-first card, esp. since the new 30" flat panels were designed with it in mind. I used to be a subscriber to the Macs-don't-crash theory, but I've used mine too long to continue in that belief. For a while, however, the Mac OS seemed to be more stable than Windows. NT, 2000 and XP ended that. With apps, as I stated, Wintel by-far has the most. But, if I can play Halo, Warcraft III or many other games online with fellow PC-users, I don't see much of a problem. If you're looking for Mac software, here's a quick guide of what's available...

                          http://guide.apple.com/index.lasso

We've got a hybrid at the church/school I work at also, which is why I've been delegated any and all Apple situations, from purchasing to maintenance and replacement. Besides, it could be worse...could be Linux lol
