  • Another battle scar for my Hawk. Ugggg...w/in.

    Hi all,
While I was crusing though my little town. I went over a step bump in the road by the firestation. The bottom passenger side of
my Hawk's nose is scrapped badly.
The only good thing is that it can only be seen standing far away
from the car. Also, it matches the curb markings on my passenger
ground effect. That was done last year picking up my brother from
High school. Darn teenagers. Trying to advoid them and hit the high curb by the school.
Crap happeneds but this is my dream car since they came out in
1992. I told my wife that I will have the car repainted (custom) in
5 or 10 years down the road.
Saying that keeps me from losing my cool when I detail the Hawk.

    Thank for reading my ranting.

Join the club...I have more scrapes and blemishes on my paint than I care to admit...but I keep telling myself that "someday I can afford a REALLY NICE paint job"...

It sucks, but thats just part of driving these cars every day...

I'll never forget the time that I was driving down a divided 6 lane city avenue in a blinding rainstorm. All of a sudden the car in front of me hits a huge puddle and rotates sideways, pointing to the right. The is a car immediatly on my right and I have no choice but to brake and steer left. You guessed it, hit a concrete curb and launched up into the grassy median. Bent the heck out of one wheel, knocked the car out of alignment and scraped the bottom of the nose on the curb as I went over. I was thanking God that day that I hadn't lowered the car. If I had, there would have been major carnage. To this day every time I get the urge, that episode reminds me not to lower the car. All was fixed by getting a new wheel and repainting the nose. You should consider yourself lucky that was all that happened.

I was in the snow about two years ago in the T/A and was making a left turn. The woman in the minivan coming towad the intersection didn't stop in time and hit the left front of the bird. Now I have a dent and a circle of paint about quarter size missing. Worst part was I couldn't get traction to get out of the way!
