Good solution, Joe. I've been looking for things he does that are illegal, and will hurt him in the wallet if caught. My main issue is that I was very professional to both him and his son. I even went as far as telling him his son can ride his quad on my DRIVEWAY, as long as he didn't ride on the grass. He scoffed at the offer and that's when he "asked" me off his property.

Oh well. I'll keep you posted on the weekend's events....

I wouldn't necessarily just look at what is "legal", but look into county ordinances and zoning too. That's where it can hit him in the wallet. Believe it or not, hurting his wallet goes much farther than anything else you could do. I still like the idea of renting a huge 4x4 and start your own mud bogging competition in his front yard. I would be the type to hire an off duty road construction foreman to come out and grade the road, of course making sure that all excess material were dumped on his driveway. One has to think big when faced with someone else's intimidation.

Curious, since the town considers it a private road, someone has to own it...... hint, hint......someone does have the authority somewhere, you just have to dig deep enough.

Like what Joe said, "somebody" has to own the driveway. That "somebody" might not be to happy if someone were to get injured on their property and sue them. If they were in fear of a lawsuit they just might forbid the operation of off-road vehicles on their property.

You need to find out who the owner is and file a complaint. manufacture a story about how the kid on the 4 wheeler nearly caused an accident and how if that had happenned you would of needed to file a claim or suit agianst the owner of the property.

Have an attourney draft the letter. That'll get their attention.

          Neighbor to my.....

North: Keeps his property very nice. Has been known to impose on my space but is really not a bad guy.

South: Awesome couple. Keep their property meticulous and are very nice people.

West: Across the street. Keep their property very nice. Younger couple. Very nice. I consider them my friends. He comes over every time he sees me outside and we talk cars.

East: Awesome neighbors. They swim around all day and never bother me. I always take them treats and they just gobble them up and keep to themselves. They are very clean and an asset to the community. Some get eaten by the Blue Herron but that's just normal.

How ironic....... I have a neighbor problem. I received a notice from code enforcement that "it has been brought to our attention that a vehicle is on your property does not have a valid tag"...... etc, etc.... I had one of the cars pulled out in the driveway while I was working on the garage from the hurricane damage. You would think that people have something better to do than to go up on my property and check for a valid tag. There is no way they could have checked the tag without trespassing. Simple solution, but people are still buttheads.

Oh man, does that bring back a memory. About 15 years ago, I was renting a condo from one of my clients. She warned me that some of the retiree neighbors were real buttheads. She handed me (get this) a 28 page book of rules and regulations. It was unreal, almost anything you could think of was in there right down to whether you could have potted plants on your porch. Anyway, one day I needed to replace my plug wires on an old Elcamino that I was driving. I had burned a plugwire on a header, but this wasn't any f-body.... I could swap plug wires in about 15 minutes. I am out on this nice Saturday morning, I had just pulled the old plug wires off. This old man wheeled up in his electric wheelchair and said "good morning". I replied with a nice and friendly good morning as well. He asked what I was doing, I replied that I was swapping the spark plug wires. In a rather gruff tone he said that I couldn't do that. He then sarcastically asked "Did I read the rules and regulations?" I replied "yes I did". Now he was getting rather rude, he said "According to the rules, you can't work on the car." Well, you guys should know me........ I always read up and have my info straight before I go into battle. I said, "No sir, you're partially wrong. On page 18, paragraph D, rule 46, it clearly states " No major vehicle repairs are to be performed on the premisis." He says "I'm on the board of directors and I say that you can't do that here." My reply was simply this: "Mister, I don't care if you're the president of the United States. Changing spark plug wires is not considered a major repair, I could have already been done with the job if you weren't here annoying me. And furthermore, on page 23, paragraph 4, rule 89, it clearly states: No resident can tell another resident what to do." The guy was so bent out of shape, he wheeled off in a huff while I nicely said: "Have a nice day". I finished the plug wires in about another 10 minutes and went out to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

Some people really need to get a life and leave others alone. It seems like some of them get a taste of some kind of power and decide they are the self appointed police of the world. This story is complelty true, no embellishments right down to the freaking novel sized book of rules and regulations. This type of crap was an everyday occurance somewhere in there. The straw that broke the camels back was when I was getting hassled by the "board" when I bought a new car. The temporary plate had expired and had yet to receive the new one. They threatened to tow the car, I promptly when to my landlord, turned in my notice and got the heck out of there. My landlord didn't blame me, she promptly put the place up for sale because she was so sick of them too. That's why she moved in the first place and turned it into a rental.

I used to get into it with ny next door neighbor, he was a total jerk.

We didnt have a fence in the back yard, and both yards were connecting, so when I'd mow the lawn, I'd try and get as close if not over the property line so all the grass would be level. This guy used to leave atleast 6 inch's of uncut grass inbetween. like what the hell?

Like I said, both lots were connected, so my driveway was connected with his lawn. I live in Canada with the heavy snow falls, so when I'm shoveling on that side of the driveway, I'd build up abit of a wall on his lawn. So, he came out and said if I did it again, he'd call the cops on me... Well, as much of a jerk move that is, I know there is nothing I could do, because he was right, so I kindly ssaid ok, and moved on...

Well, one night he came out @ 11pm on the dot, where me and 2 of my friends were sitting, having a couple beers, just shooting the ... you know
So anyways, he comes out and try's to order me in the house, saying he is going to call the cops, then starts saying he feels sorry for me, and making direct insults... Well, I had, had enough, and I pretty much blew a fuse @ that point .. we almost got into a full fist fight, if it werent for my friends holding me back...

And you know what I did after all of this? I moved.

hhmm... how come you couldn't "spike" the yard? if the kid gets hurt it's tresspassing? I don't know a lot about that legallity stuff though. The first thing that came to my mind about sabatojing (is that how it's spelled) the 4 wheeler is that you don't want to start a war you don't want to get in to. What i mean is, say you mess with his son's 4 wheeler. Obviously he doesn't have much respect for machines so if he gets in to a P'd off mood and mess's with your CAR !!!!! I don't think it's worth a murder if he did anything to your car. Maybe you could pay some kids at his sons school to kick his boys butt? Not real sure. I'm always paranoid someone will try to get to me by attacking my car cause they know it's a point of weakness. keep us updated.
