  • The senseless mods list.....

I've seen a few things lately that have me really scratching my head.

First one....... A simulated nitrous purge kit. I mean it's a complete dry kit that vents nitrous to the atmosphere and never gets injected into the engine. I mean really..... what the heck is the purpose of that?

The next is a trend that I've noticed...... not really a mod, but an appearance whatever you want to call it. Lately ricers have been using large numbers on their windows to proudly display the size of their wheels. ie: 19" in large letters displayed on their side windows. That cracks me up.

Anyone else see something so incredibly stupid that you have to share?

First of all, I thought you were calling all of us moderators "senseless".

Secondly, I've never seen the wheel size on the window thing. It takes a while for those trends to reach us here in the mid west.

Ok, here is what I've got do today.
Put "18" and "19" on the C6 and "17" and "18" on the C5. Where should I put them? Do they put them on the side windows? Can you get a pic sometime? I'd really like to see what these crazies are doing now.

Btw, are you sure it's not their shoe size or their IQ?

Nooooooooooooooooo! Norm, say it ain't so. A riced Vette would be too much to bear.

As far as a pic, I should be able to take one today. There are a few of them here at work.

I always crack up at the coffee can exhaust tip that is just held onto the STOCK exhaust tip with a set screw and therefore sticks out a few inches past the bumper.

Fake blowoff valve. It just provided the sound of a blowoff valve on a would be turbocharged car. Too funny....Maybe I'll get one for the Sebring!!!

I wish I could get a photo of this car. It's a late '80's 4 door, looks like it used to be a Chevy, but it's hard to tell. The thing is painted yellow on one side and red on the other, yes, the color break is in the middle of the car (looks like a spray can job). The steel rims are painted the opposite color from the side they are on. The tail lights on the yellow side are painted yellow with unpainted round red circles so you can still see the lights. The rear axle has a home made lift kit, that lifts the rear of the car about 6 inches (just a guess).

Then there's a 4th gen TA, yellow, with solid (not tint!) color yellow strips at the top and bottom of the windshield.

Speaking of riced Vettes... I saw an early nineties Vette yesterday with an airplane wing. I tried to take a pic but got stuck at a red light and couldn't catch up. It made me want to ...

As stupid as it is, few can argue how awesome a nitrous purge looks. They don't get the power, but then again when do ricers gor for anything other than attention/ looks?
