Wow. The life expectancy of a B17 pilot in WWII was like 16 sorties.

I could sit and listen to WWII pilots stories all day long.

I am so disappointed with "Duke" Cunningham right now. He should know better. Washington can be so corrupting.

Ahhh, the Jug. I'd do anything to go to a museum just to touch it. My neighbor was a navigator on a B17 in WW2. He would tell me stories of how the Jug's would escort them over Germany and how the P-51's were later introduced.

At age 28 I still end up sittin on the floor hearing the same stories over and over like it was the first time. Back in those days it was like they all beleived in what they were fighting for and had so much pride in what they did. Now Washington I belieive has taken that away from the soldiers of today.

                            • the P47 was the first plane to break the sound barrier, it did it in a dive, however, the wings came off when the pilot tried to pull up........

                              • Last night, the History Channel had a show on the search of the USS Indianapolis. Just hearing the survivor's stories kept me from channel surfing, even during commercials. I was afraid I'd come back to it a few seconds late. It was that good.
