Nah, I already called the police for her parents, because two so called "professionals" couldn't figure out that it's a better idea to call the police before your house gets robbed. Two college educated people with no common sense whatsoever. They don't think it's anything major. It's just some random, non-hostile group of people sitting outside and scoping out their house on a daily basis and damaging their daughters car. No biggie. When you ask them, they say "Oh we're from the city. We're used to it". They love nothing more than to let people know they're from the city. At the same time, her mom yells hat my exhaust keeps her awake. So much for being used to the city life Every day is a struggle against common sense for them.

Paintball gun is a great idea in a rural area like mine where you can be certain that there isn't a gang member or robber sitting in the car with a gun and when he hears a loud thunk on the side of the car puts his real gun out the window and fires shots into the bushes. I personally don't think the cops are going to do a whole lot till something actually happens. Yes you can get them a plate number but they really can't do anything about someone sitting along the road they may be able to scare them off but when they will really do something is when the house gets robbed. I would personally get a few buddies probably that I played football with and wait for them when they come don't just start out by walking up and saying your going to kick their a## ask them what they are doing there and why they keep coming back. More than likely you will get some stupid bs excuse especially if its the sisters ex. Tell them you are making the whole family uncomfortable and ask that they don't come around the area anymore or the cops will be called. If they aren't complient you have your friends there to back you up and call the cops or do what you feel is necessary.
If it was her sisters ex, I really, not trying to sound like a tough guy, wouldn't be able to resist the urge to strike him. Hard. This kid thinks he's super tough, when in fact he's just a coward like my father and his father. My dad has been best friends with his dad since they were in high school, so I've basically grown up with the clown. He'll talk real tough, but when confrontation rears it's head he'll run. I just want it to end. Her 15 year old brother is useless. He's afraid to throw the garbage out without someone watching him (he's been like this his whole life). When their house alarm goes off, he screams like a woman and locks himself in his room and leaves his sisters to deal with it. Her older sister's intellectual equal is a rock. She doesn't know what to do about anything. She doesn't care what happens, so long as her Gucci bags are left unscathed. My girlfriend is terrified and wants her parents to talk to the police, but she doesn't want them to get mad at her for trying to tell them what to do. I really don't want my girlfriend getting raped or injured, nor do I want anything to happen to her family. The fact that out of the four cars in front of their house, the only one that was damaged was her sisters seems like too much to be coincidence. I'm almost certain that it's just someone messing with her and trying to scare her. At the same time, some people are twisted. The damage to her car could have happened in any parking lot. It might be completely unrelated to her ex. Before I moved, a similar situation occured involving what we thought was my house. A few weeks later, the house directly across the street from us was robbed.
Sorry for the rant, but I'm extremely worked up over this as you can plainly see. I know that 80% of it sounds like typical crap that happens with kids. My concern is that it's not her ex. Her sister used to be "stalked" by some other kid, but this was years ago. Even though she's a putz, I sure as heck don't want her to get raped or beaten or worse. Thankfully, back in August I bought my girlfriend pepper spray and a knife that she carries when she's everywhere aside from school.
I'll post again when I have something worth posting. No point in repeating myself for the hundredth time.

I'd consider putting up a video cam, or even mount a camera (or empty vid camera body) above the garage. If your looking to get rid of them, just make the camera obvious. Nobody likes being video taped if there up to something. If your trying to help the police crack a robbery ring or something, set it up on the down low.

Just my personal opinion, but based on what you are saying, it doesn't sound like anything major. There are cars parking on my street in front of my house all the time and I live in a town of 14,000 people. The police aren't going to do anything unless a law is broken. If they were blatantly sitting out there with binoculars, obviously scoping the place out...or making threats or doing some sort of lude conduct, then the cops would act. But in your situation, it sounds like either coincidence or a typical stupid teenage ex-boyfriend checking up on his ex. If you want to take some preventative steps, do like the others were saying and get license plate numbers, and maybe even take some digital photos of any and all cars that do that. Keep in mind that if it is a different car every time this happens, then the likelyhood of it being the same guy or group of guys is very slim. Most people don't have a multitude of cars at their disposal to drive up and park in front of a house every night in a different one. Unfortunately these people have just as much right to park on the street as you or her parents do....so the police aren't going to do anything. I hope everything turns out alright though and that it doesn't turn out to be anything bad, but I really wouldn't get all worked up about something you might be reading too much into.
After you shoot there car up with the paintball gun you always hit'em with a paint grenade!!(balloon filled with paint)
That'll work too. Also, pour a bunch of nails on the driveway so when he pulls up he won't get very far when he speeds off. When you run out of paint, have a backup high pressure supersoaker filled with Acetone.
