  • Vid of my buds Turbo setup

I figure you hp junkies would appreciate this setup (T-88 I believe)

This is the initial firing of the setup as it has taken months to get to this point. Complete new practically everything (Aluminum tank with HUGE fuel pump, Huge Turbo, Even larger intercooler with a custom setup) . This is going to be a street car, designed as a street car with 1000+rwhp (we'll see after it is street tuned and finished). All done with buds assisting and a bud with keys to a dynoshop

    1000 hp z28
It is not done yet. This was a test fire. Now the exhaust system needs to be shipped out to be coated (turbo's creae lots of heat).

That's about the same power to weight ratio as my ZX-12R. My bike's acceleration on the open road is very comparible to a friend's 1050 RWHP C5 Z06. There is absolutely nothing like it. I think more people need 1000+ RWHP Y and F-bodies......seriously.

Lets us know how everything goes and post some video of the car when it is completed.

BTW, your first link was broken for me.

I think his car would accelerate harder in 6th at 2,000RPM's than mine does at 3,000RPM's in 1st

He let me drive it at the track one day and I ran a quicker time than he ever had after my first pass! He got so mad that I could shift the car better than he could he didn't let me drive the car for a while after that.

                          Update #2

I'll try an summarize from what my buds have said and pics they've posted

                          -radiator framing
-408ci setup (strogest that $ could buy will add more engine details later)
weldon fuel pump and pic of fuel rails
front view of custom radiator and ata intercooler

1 of 4 SPEC dual disks for an LS1 The clutch is 1 of 4 SPEC dual disks for an LS1. We will be testing it on this car and letting SPEC know what we think. (they will be over $2000)

I figure we have about 50-60hr's into it atleast since it is a first mock up type of deal
pic of stainless steel exhaust and aluminum gas tank
Started up PurEvl's car today and went to a nice 800rpm,18" of vacuum Car is pretty quiet with 2 bullet muffler's.No leaks in any welds or oil lines. Now I just got to take apart the intercooler piping, paint it and redo the coolant lines a better way.

                          So a few notes

1- Drilling the oil pan is no problem on the car.Took me 5 minutes to drill/tap the pan and the grease caught about 98% of the filings.

2-The stock fans fit no problem

The car has a wideband and thats about it.I prefer the MA as blow through and we convert alot of Vortech kit's to work like that.

The plan is to run it on the dyno and see how quickly we run out of injector (old 60lber's) and go from there.Possibly switching to 96lber's and a BS3.

                          3-This took forever

Right now the idle is perfect at 800rpm and 14.7-1 A/F. The stock MA will peg as soon as we get over 9-10lbs of boost but that is not a problem. The BS3 will have better control when boost changes and to idle the big injector's like you said.
Plus I really need to get into the BS3 since my own car will be running 160lb injector's

'm thinking 750hp/750tq for the street and we'll put in some C16 and boost it till something pop's (so 1000+ hp is on c16 race gas but for long term use 750 hp looks to be it)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm That just makes me smile. I couldn't get my compression down that low using the heads I have. I'm going to see what 9:1 will bring me. If I can't get the numbers I want, I'm going to go with a different head.
