We also have to remember that concept cars are not built with 100% federal safety regulations in mind. Most of the changes on a concept vehicle are simply out of pure necessity rather than by choice.

when that concept was made chevy was still making iroc-z camaros. They probably didn't know yet that they'd end up dropping the name.

          Hello everybody:

I would like something more aero in the way the last generation was.

I would like something more revolutionary in the way the second generation was.

I would like something like an inexpensive Corvette with some space for a two plus two and a strong rear axle to make all the power through.

I ask what was wrong with the fourth generatio scheme?

Why should all of us have a crash program solution from 1967 if the second generation was a much improved car?

I still love my ´71 and my ´97

98% of the "camaro buying public" dont drag race, they are going to thrust the market towards the sell...not drive the cost of the car up with beefed up components to withstand drag racing, which voids the warranty anyway....

the last design would not pass the new nhtsa windshield crash integrity test which went into effect for the 2003 model year, (that was kept quiet)..that coupled with low sales, is what made the camaro and firebird take a hike..

the new designs schemes are no longer "sleek", except for the corvette..if you check Daimler Chryslers models, you see what I mean, and they are selling, its back to the old "boxy muscle car look"....to an extent...with modern lines......

see gm is missing a downside also if they are aiming for the "younger" buyers,i am one and a disapointed one!, but they also have to realize one of the main reasons that they were not selling to the younger buyers with the fourth gen is the insurance rates its nearly impossible for kids to pull that off thats why most of them go to imports i guess the high dollar signs of insurance clouds up there thinking of a "real" car to a affordable car, and theres not that much gm can do about it there aiming to the wrong market in my opinion if they realy want that thing to sell they have to open it up more to the people who can afford it and not try to make kids just "want" what they cant afford. even with my car the insurance on it would kill me if it was on my name and its now 6 yrs old, according to them i odnt exist and its my moms car thats the only way i can own that car

Revolt.....or stop driving like yahoos and crashing into people!!! Well not all of us do the crashing part but many do! I have to do the same thing to get insurance on my cars. Legally though, I have to insure something. So I have liability only on my Omni. The real kicker is that full coverage on my Caprice or Firebird(under my mom's name) is LESS than liability on My Omni!!!

...maybe the insurance companies r run by the same people as the gas companies...using any excuse, REASONABLE OR NOT, to raise their rates!

Exactly...BUT for every 1 of us there are probably 10 that get into accidents or get tickets... Which spoils it for us. I can't get full coverage insurance for under $2500/year. That is with a $500 Deductible.

Maybe you guys need to try switching insurance companies. I've got the Z and my Jeep covered for @ $160/mo., full on the Z with a 500 deduc. and liability on the Jeep. Do a little shopping around.

wut gets to me is the reason for a guys insurance to be more than a girls! "because boys are more of a risk!!!" if i discriminated against someone due to their gender i would be brought up on charges! y arent they? BECUASE OF MAINLY, TECHNICALITIES! u cant accuse someone of sexism if they hire both men and women employees, can u!?!

i absolutely love the statistics that they use to back their claim too! Statistics twisted and edited to make women obviously the bettert of the two. DONT GET ME WRONG! i beleive women to be great driver's! but i was once shown the stats to show that men were more of a liability, THEY WERE FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, AND THE #'S WERE OF MEN OF ALL AGES AND WOMEN OF A SELECT AGE GROUP!!! if you showed that info in a law suit, u would be laughed from the courtroom!!
