It has nothing to do with the Monte Carlo, its the fact that people can't take the second to read the chrome badge on the ALL BLACK CAR that says BUICK. That's what steams me (and most other GN owners).

hey, just like the GTO is a Holden with Pontiac badges on it, with a Corvette engine in it, right Ken?

As much as I see this kid, it's only a matter of time before I catch him while I'm in the 93. I've already been pulling off the Z28 emblems for the sleeper look.

I'll have to remember that Neon comment. Somehow I get the feeling I'll have the opportunity toss it out there.

Funny thing is whenever I talk to non car people, they ask what kind of car the GN is I just say it's a Regal. I really don't even feel like trying to explain unless they really show an interest. It does remind me of a time though in the West Palm Beach area about 7 or 8 years ago. I'm driving the Buick, on my way home from a car show and this moron in some rice mobile is weaving in and out of traffic frantically trying to catch up with me. I just try and mind my own business and we do end up at a light together. He's got his girl in the car, trying to impress her but evidently she was getting annoyed with him. My windows were already down, the air was cool and clear.... a great nite for a cruise. His neon kit is glowing, his boom box stereo is going, the fart tip blating, he rolls down the window and says: "Nice Monte, is it supposed to be fast?" Right at that moment his girl slaps him on the arm. I had my left foot on the brake and was building some boost..... I knew the light was going to turn. He was still dealing with his annoyed girl in the passenger seat who just slapped him and as the light turns I say:

"It's not a Monte you Moron! Sionara, Ricer Boy!" And at that moment roasted them at half throttle until the top of second gear and hit third. As I look back, he's still a dozen lengths back trying to negotiate his way though the intersection. His headlights looked a dingy brown from fighting though the thick tiresmoke of my John Force Funny Car style 1/8th mile burnout. The last I saw of him was just as I finished my reply...... his girl busted out laughing as I launched...... Then he was toast.......... I quickly got out of the throttle and got out of the immediate vicinity quickly. I cruised at the speed limit on my way home, enjoying the night air...... ah.......

That was perhaps my all time favorite real life encounter.

I am really enjoying all these stories guys. Nothing exciting like this ever happens to me when I drive my SS. Ricers take one look at my gray hair and they just leave me alone........my wife calls it the Grandpa Syndrome. Old age does deserve respect you know.

I don't see as many ricers as I used to. Not sure where they all went. Potholes maybe.

Reminds me of a time when a body kitted cavalier was trying to pass me. He got beside me and pointed...He got the launch and as I was passing him, his girlfriend was just laughing her ass off. We only got to about 70. After that he stayed way back. Then I could see he was picking up the speed so when he got to my back bumper I nailed it again. His rear wheel got to my front wheel before I was passing him again. This time his girlfriend was laughing hysterically and he was steamed. They stayed about a mile behind me after that.
