I've been playing around with another hobby of late....... flying radio controlled jets. I have a couple of them. I crashed an A-7 Corsair today in spectacular fashion. The pre-flight check was routine. The launch was typical, a very slight breeze but nothing dangerous. I manouvered the jet though a few warm up passes and decided it was time for some agressive moves. I rolled the plane over and went into a full power dive. The plane screemed up to speed and as I it pulled up you could see the wings flex..... they were doing their job. The plane was in the middle of doing a hard G pull up and as soon as the jet was parallel to the ground it happened. As a matter of fact it happened right in front of me. It was just like watching something in an airshow........The left wing buckled. It folded up starting at the fuselage. The plane was still under full power, it gently rolled over on it's back was ponting 180º from where it was previously heading and was in a flat fall. I immediatly cut power.......In my head I was yelling "MAYDAY, MAYDAY....... EJECT, EJECT!" If this were real life, the ejection seat would be firing straight toward the ground. No way the pilot would survive. The Corsair contined downward in a flat fall, striking the ground upside down, popping off the canopy and folding up the right rear stabilizer.

A spectacular crash that even though it seriously crunched the Corsair, it really looked like one of those captured on video airshow distasters only without the intense fireball. I was laughing harder than I was
I was laughing harder than I was ing. There are a few replacements I am looking at. One is a FA-22 Raptor with twin motors, the other is Airforce One with Four. Either one is pricey enough that when you crash it, you

it's just that flying these things is such a blast.
