But I'm glad you got it home ok. I never knew an opti could go south with no notice or no codes.
the last cap and rotor failure didn't give me a code either. It failed at about 89K If I remember. I added the MSD at 98K so 50K miles and 40k of it with an MSD, I was holding my breath over the last year wondering just how long it would last. The problem here though is there is nothing coming out of the coil. I haven't had time yet to really do a diagnostic.

Even better, I have a few spare parts available without robbing another car. Before I even swap any parts I need to hit the circuit with a digital volt meter. I would rather test the parts first than just simply replace stuff.

          It..... is...... alive!

Turns out to be no voltage going to the coil. A simple short in the wire and 5 minutes later she came to life.

sweet. I was thinking it was your opti the entire time. I wonder if people in FLA go through more Opti's than people in less wet environments. I was gonna do a search on cz28 to check the locations of everyone with failed opti's. We don't get ton's of rain up here. I'm suspecting my opti will be failing this summer for some reason. I have instincts. Like when I spun a rod in my Conquest a few years ago. I knew it was going to happen.

I have like 97k on my car already. Opti's still going strong, but I went through the car wash the other day, and on the way home, the car had a few sputters. It never sputters, even in the past when I would get it washed everyday when I worked there. I suspected the opti got wet. The more I drove it, though, it went away. It's totally fine now.
