And to add a little humor, about half (no exageration) of the ricer crowd either over shot the hole or didn't pull up far enough. There was even one guy who had to go back and forth like 4 times before he got it right. Jeez, do you they not know what those top lights are for?

What were the track and weather conditions? Altitude?

No offense to Ryan, but to a certain point, better short times can often be attributed to a similar chassis car making slightly less power, hence little to no wheelspin.

Nevertheless, very decent short times Ryan.

The car is right on the money as far as what it should run. good starting point.

Not too far off of sea level. Not sure exactly how far but it was Cecil county drag strip, in maryland. Temp. was like 50* 50% humidity and 29.9 bara.

I ran the tires at about 23 psi. Do you think that helped? Plus i skipped the water and just spun the tires dry, if you thinked that helped me hook better.

I'm no expert by any account of my imagination, but skipping the water box is correct I believe my best time as shown in signature was run with the rears as 26psi and the fronts at 35psi. Your times look right where I was when I started. Practice and mods will help. God knows, I have a long way to go......

Yeah, i only spun them for about 5 sec. Just a little smoke I seen another LT1 firebird(trans am) there running 14.6 all day. I'm pretty sure he was going through the water box.

                    I ran against a LS1 T/A twice here's his best times:

                    R/T: .127
                    60': 1.849
                    330: 4.926
                    1/8: 7.474
                    mph: 96.2
                    1000: 9.660
                    1/4: 11.496
                    mph: 123.14

He had borla exhaust and Stickies, but then he said he only had a cam. Not sure if i believe him or not. What do you guys think? Either way i got smoked . The third race was against a SRT-4 he ran 13.874 @106.3 with a 2.378 60 footer.

With a trap speed of 123.14mph I find it really hard to believe he had just exhuast, cam, and stickies. I'm guessing he had all that plus a little juice to top it all off.

I don't think an LS1 with cam, probably headwork, full exhaust and stickies running an 11.4 is too far fetched.

There are plenty of cam only LS1's in the 10's and bottom 11's trapping in the mid to upper 120's. The record for the cam only LS1 is 10.23 @ 130.95. A 123 trap speed in a cam only, no nitrous LS1 is not out of the question at all.

                              What he said....

The LS1 is a very capable motor - a lot more than some give it credit for!

That being said - that would have to be a big cam and I would guess aftermarket heads. A local guy here has a small cam, heads, and a 75 shot of nitrous and traps at 126 or so.
