did manage to get a good shot of my wolfdog this a.m. while i was sippin some strong coffee on the couch...and one of my gto thursday night, knowing the weather was comming, i had to get it out and drive it.. put 2.3 miles on it..LOL..went down to the local dollar store and got some synthetic sponges to apply zaino 16 with... they work great, a stack for buck, cant beat it.....

I used to be a fan until the sport was destroyed by cookie-cutter cars and monopoly race teams. I used to love watching back when the Monte Carlo SS looked like an actual Monte Carlo SS. The Thunderbird was a completely different animal.

Either way, I'm not a fan anymore. Besides, it interferes with football season in the fall.

Hey now stop posting pics of my car, ken!!! She is still a garage queen. It's hail season here and the vette is on the road..

I miss #3 too. Haven't watched much NASCAR since he was killed. Ken remember when Mary hated NASCAR and laughed at me for loving #3?

Remember where we were (the 4 of us) when we found out that he was killed?

                The good old times.

                I miss you guys...

I am a HUGE NASCAR fan. I respect and admire every racing sport out there. It's is absolutely astounding at how much intelligence, dedication, engineering, and R&D go into each and every one of those cars! It's also amazing at how big of a family the NASCAR world really is, and it is also amazing how 100,000-200,000 seats are filled for every single cup race. There is much to respect regarding NASCAR.

I think Tony has gotten his act together a little better this year, although he has still had some moments with his attitude.

I am a Kurt and Kyle Busch fan! Two of the greatest and smartest drivers out there.

National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing stock? need i say more lol

Seriously though if Nascar would havepressed a little more on making the auto companies build cars for them (like back in the day) there would be so many awesome cars out on the road today instead of a bunch of front wheelers....

You really didn't just blame NASCAR for the import craze.....did you???

Times change, and so do the associated rules. When it comes to any racing event whether it be NHRA, IRL, NASCAR, IHRA, or what have you, they have to level the playing field as much as possible because the teams will take advantage of bending the rules at every chance possible to gain an edge. This is why ALL of the racing sports mandate rules such as wing and body shapes. It's got absolutely nothing to do with NASCAR "pressing" to get the auto manufacturers to produce the bodies for NASCAR.

NASCAR is about to go to the "Car of Tomorrow". Every single team will be using the exact same body. Yet another step forward in leveling the playing field and allowing underfunded and up and coming potential drivers and teams the chance to get a foot in the door. It ain't pretty but they haven't released the final design yet.

Yea, I agree the COT isn't too good looking. But it's supposed to reduce all the aero problems (by being less aero dependent), right? If that's the case, then the racing will be even closer, right?

The only problem is that they're going to reduce to 300-327? cubes by around 2009. They want to get it back down to 680-700 horses, so I'm not sure how much a near 200 horsepower reduction would affect lap times.

I sure hope all this will turn out to be better racing

We keep it on either a sports channel, the news, or Speed Channel when we're working out in the shop after work . According to NASCAR, they are trying to slow down the cars so that they don't have to run so much gear and turn such high RPM's. They want to eliminate as many broke engines as possible and thereby eliminating downtime, especially red flags. It's bad for TV ratings and it just sucks overall for the green flag again.

It's the same reason the NHRA keeps reducing the percentage of nitromethane in the Top Fuel motors. It's down to 85% now and they're talking about reducing it even further to 80%.

They always start qualifying on Friday nights with the fuel cars(Top Fuel's and TF Funny Cars). When they were allowed to run 100% nitro, just about every other or every third guy was breaking and putting oil down. It would take them at least 15-20 minutes to clean up and get that lane ready again. This was bad for the TV coverage and bad for the fans and ultimately bad for the sport.

NASCAR takes safety very serious as you know and this BOT will probably prove to be a little safer as well. I think NASCAR is doing an awesome job by keeping this sport competitive and safe. It is run very very well I think. NASCAR is also pretty heavily Christian oriented.....I like that as well.
