I grossed out a couple people at work with my broken finger bent in the wrong direction. ...Funny how it doesn't start hurting till later...

The reaction was golden. Then I went to the hospital and tried to talk them into sewing it back on, but they just laughed. Sooooo, I went home and stopped at the drug store to get some medicine for it and got my truck stuck in the snow and had to dig it out. The thumb was hurtin by then, so I went straight home and decided to do time-lapse documentation of the healing (or putrification) process over a course of weeks. That first weekend, I went to the gym and tried to do my workout. When I picked up the weights, blood squirted out, so I had to wait a week before trying it again. I put the little piece in a jar with alcohol and gave it to my girlfriend for Christmas. I haven't seen her in a while, so I'm currently accepting applications for new volunteers. Enjoy!!!
That reminds me of the time that I was putting in a deck on the back of my house. I was pre-drilling these little 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 boards so they would not split when we screwed them on. Well the drill bit jumped out of the hole I had started and went right through my hand.

Missed the bones........but the hard part was overriding my brain and putting the drill in reverse and slowly pulling the trigger one more time to pull the drill bit out!

I ran straight to a friend of mine who cannot stand the sight of blood and he nearly passed out! It was a classic moment.

When I was a carpenter, we were on a jobsite doing siding. I was up on some scaffolding with another guy, about 30 feet in the air. We were using pneumatic staplers to put up rigid insulation. I was going a million miles an hour, got a little careless, and put one in the back of my hand.

The other guy was so horrified, he started screaming like a girl. There was a lot of blodd, but to be honest, it was fairly numb at the time it happened. He started getting light-headed and had to get down. I was laughing. I just pulled the staple, wrapped up my hand, and worked another hour before it started to really throb.
