    I am Extremely Upset - Need Advice...*Not for young eyes*

    This past winter, an old friend(Matt) from High School, also a soldier fighting in Iraq, was hit by a huge explosion. His whole body was essentially burned through and through... He was then transported to a burn center in San Antonio, Texas where he was just getting worse... He finally past away April 27th... His funeral is scheduled for May 6th...Needless to say I am nearly in tears writing this now...

    The cool thing is that after he passed away, he was flown up here and, he and his family were litterally given a police escort from the airport to the funeral home more than 50 miles away. On there way up, as they were going through each town on the expressway, the whole fire and police departments from each little town lined the overpasses with there lights flashing.....

    THE Worse part about it is.....I am not sure if anybody here has ever heard of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas...but they have planned a "protest" against MATT!!! They intend on spewing there anti-gay and anti-America Hatred towards Matt AT HIS FUNERAL!!!!!!!!!!!WTF They have done this to countless funerals across the country to OUR OWN DECEASED TROOPS...

    They have set up a website here...HOWEVER, if you have children around, make them leave because you will not only believe what it is called but you will also not believe the content on this site!!! The direct link to his protest info is here

    Needless to say I have ditched everything else to attend his funeral but I feel that if I go there WILL be problems between my baseball bat and these "peoples'"(if you can call them that) heads!!!

    Please, his family needs support...So do I...What should I do?? And What Is Wrong With People In This Country?

    I am very greatful to your friend for his sacrifice. May he rest in peace.



    Now what in the he!! is wrong with these people. They just dont get it. He gave his life for them. They hate the us military, well if it wasn't for the us military they wouldnt be able to speak and protest like they do. I really dont know what to say to buddy, maybe someone else can give u some advice, but all i got to say is let them come around here and it wont be such a peaceful demonstration. I dont know dude.

      I thought congress just passed a law saying that protestors had to be like 500 feet back. Maybe it didn't pass. Anybody know?

      Those people are disgusting and disgraceful. They should deport them with the illegal aliens.

          It hasn't passed yet... Our local government is expected to pass a law within the next few weeks but it won't be in time for Matt's funeral...
          O btw, I am going but I am debating bringing my baseball bat and a mask...

            You defentatly need to be there for him and show your support.
            I for one totaly understand how mad and upset u are. I would probably feel like doing the same thing but theres one thing you need to ask yourself. Is that what Matt would do or want you to do.

              we just talking about these people in one our classes. Whatever you do, don't do anything illegal against them. They get their money by inciting people to commit illegal acts against them, and suing them for all they have. These people are crazy, they have no respect for anyone, and most of the people there are family members of the one who started this "church". It is absolutely rediculous and I am outraged as well. Apparently though some people have have taken it upon themselves to act as a human barrier to this group on motorcyles, so the engine noise overbears that of the protestors but I forget what they had called themselves. I hope everything goes well and that the protestors do not ruin everything. I feel for you man, I too wish that we could give these guys whats coming to them.

                  I have seen these idiots on t.v., they make me sick. Your friend is a hero and deserves to be treated as such. In some of the times I have seen them covered on the news, there has been a group of motorcyclists that come to the funerals to offset the protestors. They rev the engines on their Harley's to drown out the shouts. If you can figure out who they are, then maybe you can get one of their chapters to come out and support Matt's family. I know it may be a long shot, but it's worth a try. If you can't get them, then try to get some F-buds with loudmouths on their cars or some other vehicles with loud exhaust out there and park RIGHT in front of those arseholes and rev the crap out of them. I wouldn't recommend using the bat, as much as it would please me to do the same thing, because then you will just end up going to jail for a long time for felony assualt. I could see maybe punching someone's lights out, but assault with a deadly weapon is a bit too extreme. I wish you luck, man. I'm sorry the family and the friends, like you, have to put up with such human filth.

                          Bless your friend, he made the untimate sacrafice for us all.

                          Maybe someone will accidentally set fire to the protesters vehicles.

                              you guess have more cool heads then i do. i got a redneck side of me and now i wanna go there wit my buddies and start texas sleigh riding them. i cant beleive that. i hope some1 hits them. they shouldnt even call themselfs american cuz they are disgracing the name
