This may have been posted already, but here is a pretty in-depth article (from a business viewpoint) of a new all-electric car that a guy in CA is developing. Here is the article:

That would be like getting shot off of an aircraft carrier. LOL Top speed seems to peter out pretty quick though, even though it is electronically limited. I wonder if it is JUST geared for torque?

It's a cool concept but obviously it could never take off. At least not with the way things are now. They're deathtraps. No one in their right mind would drive one with all of the massive SUV's prowling about. Heck, I bet a Civic could launch one of those like a rag doll. Even with the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times plus the 170MPG. What could it weigh? 800lbs? A strong wind could kick your butt in that thing.
