I actualy heard of a parent (kids in car with her) suing someone for blasting the hippity hoppity in his car on the road because of the adult content she didnt want her children to hear, she won the case
This is along the same lines as the people prosecuted because the porn they were playing on their in car DVD system was viewable through the back window of the vehicle to everyone. I think they were charged with public lewdness but don't remember for sure.
I'm at the local park with the 3 kids. It's a large playground/equipment area with a row of parking along one side. The place is full of parents and kids playing. It is located in a very nice neighborhood.
Enter 2 cars of thugs.
They park right along the edge of the play area and unload. The mothers get the kids out and come to play. The fathers sit on the trunks of their cars and procede to blast music full of profanity. Nice, just what every kid in the park needs to hear is F*** this and N***** that.
I ask one of the mothers nicely if they could go have the music turned down because it is not appropriate for the children to hear those words. She completely ignored me. Looked at me and just looked away.
I gathered up the kids and we left. I was not about to walk up to 3 black guys and start a fight. I hate it that they were able to drive us away from playtime at the park and I hate that I was too much of a pu**y to go have them turn it down. Honestly, they (thugs) scare the crap out of me when they are in a group like that. I'm not a racist and it really makes me angry that these jerk offs make me feel this way.
I keep asking myself... What could I have done instead of leaving. Gone and asked them politely to turn it down? That would of resulted in them making fun of me, I'm sure. Then what? Call the cops right in front of there faces? That would be great, like the cops are going to drop what they are doing and go to a park because some music is inappropriate.
Ugh!
There's nothing you could of really done other than complain about noise pollution. Even with that, all the cops would do is just tell them to turn down their radios and be on their way.
Those people, they mess everything up, wherever they go...makes me wish they hadnt left their continent at all
It s all about being civilized, respecting the others, i dont understand why that is so hard
I think you did the right thing Tracy, and anybody would have been upset, i am upset even when i read about it
I have to agree that just leaving was the best thing to do. I know you hate to feel like you were chased out of the park, but with a group of guys like that who show no respect for others in the community, it's not too hard to imagine that it's those same kind of wannabe "thugs" that you see in the news shooting or stabbing people over the smallest of things. It would have been worse to confront them and have one of them possibly pull a weapon and scare the crap out of kids, or even worse.
Calling the cops discretely sometimes works, but often I see theses kinds of idiots turning back up the music as soon as the cops leave, and that really makes you mad. Then they'll watch for the cops and turn down the music when the cops come back around and deny it was them playing it.
I think it was a good lesson for the kids to see that some elements of society are best avoided. Unfortunantly, I think that's just the way it is. You're not alone in this type of situation, I think it's happened to all of us at one time or another.
