I was pretty constipated last week and when things finally started moving I crapped a Del-Sol. It's a good thing the top was off or it might have torn me up. Ugly little car, I had to flush it quickly to save myself embarasment.

yup. Seen a quite a few of them, they all were falling apart faster than you could repair them.

A guy at work used a Intergra as his beater for the winter (has a 300zx) and it fit the bill for that. Any car will be ok in the winter as a beater. He use to tell me to get a beater car for the winter and said that after driving it thru winter you just appreciate your good car that much more in the summer.

If you have snow though remember to check how high off the ground the car is. Also be real careful of those type of cars because 90% of them have been beaten on by teenagers.

The Del Sol dosn't have much room in it either.

I picked up my '91 Bravada for $800 two years ago to use as the daily driver/beater so my T/A could sleep in the garage. I sold the T/A, but still have the Bravada. This way, when we get a heavy snow, I don't have to drive the TL. You might find an older Blazer or something similar for a decent price.

My brother is a Honda guy...

Del Sol - the worse car Honda every built. Door rattles and body integrity is horrid. Pass on this one...trust me. The only thing good about the Del Sol was the engine, it had the B16A...at least the ones equiped with it.

Prelude - great car. Solid and strong engine...H22 with good body and decent gas mileage.

Out of the two, I'd do a Prelude.

But for a winter beater, I'd go for a old school Corolla or Celica...heck, even a Sunbird or Cavalier. Super cheap and you can run water as your oil.

My buddy got a 92 Civic DX Hatchback...it gets well over 40 mpg and pretty fun to drive with a manual. Plenty of options.
