Thats what I was thinking Ken... But maybe we should let the insurance company take care of that one.

I did a search & found all of the posts hes started. The only thing I found was, as Ken already stated, RC planes. Unfortuanately, I know less about RC planes than I do nuclear physics. Anyone know of something he may need for his hobby?

It all depends on how much money we can raise. How can we start that?

We could get him a Tower Hobbies gift certificate and he would be thrilled.

I think this is the best suggestion!! Get him a gift certificate for a hobby store, that way HE can decide what he needs for his hobby. This sounds SUPER to me!! (I think Joe would be overly thrilled, too)
        Yes, yes, yes!! Anyone else??

OK Towers Hobbies doesn't have anything that will help us. What is plan B? How can we ue the internet and get the money in 1 place? I can put it together but somebody is going to have to tell me how.

i think any amount of $$ we can send would be the ticket...what about yall?

5k isn't all that bad, and in insurance/body shop terms, that means parts you can get off ebay for under a grand. I'd be curious to see pics of the car so we have an idea. Then we could pitch in and help get replacements.

We could donate money along with getting a parts list, buying the parts from Jason Cromer (sp) down in Crestview or Ft. Walton and have them shipped to him along with the check to get the car fixed. If you guys can get me his address, I can see the distance between us and see if I could pick the parts up and take them to him. I'm not too sure where he lives though.

Body shops get a serious discount on parts (sometimes less than an employee of the dealership would pay), then sell them to the insurance company at full list, so they make money on both the parts and the labor, not to mention the body shop or the insurance company can use parts off of a wrecked car or an aftermarket part to save even more money. This way he will get all GM parts. If he's well enough, he could do some work himself, or he could choose to let the best shop in town fix his car instead of where the insurance company makes him go.

Knowing Joe he'll be out there doing all the work himself, wheelchair or not.

Ken, any new news on how he's doing physically? How long will he be in the chair? How about the hand? Is he expected to be making a full recovery with full use of his hand and legs? Any info on exactly how the accident happened? It sounds like someone else was at fault.
