          One of several options..........

Strip the basics of what I want and let her go away.

Buy it from the insurance co. for salvage, strip it completely and haul away the shell.

          or

Buy it for salvage and fix it up for track use only.

haven't completely made up my mind.

          • Welp.....

the deed is done. Finally received a check for $10K and I keep the salvage. Not what it was worth to me, but such is life. The bright side is that the dough can be used for the hurricane repairs and other car odds and ends.

I don't think she'll fly again, this bird is going to get carved up. One never knows where the powertrain may go.

Sounds like she'll fly again...just not in a body she's used too.

                • Holly Guacamole!! Good to see you got out in more or less one piece. I use to be very concerned when tearing apart the steering column with the air bag and all but it looks like they take a heck of a beating before they go off. Anyway, good luck with the resurrection or should I say reincarnation of your baby, glad you came out ok.

What made it bad was that in a side or rear impact, front airbags will not deploy.

You sure about that? My track record for black WS6s of late has been a little poor.

I am thinking that when the 94 Camaro gets a major issue with the powertrain, she'll get a new heart transplant. it sure would be a burner..... hardtop, manual windows, manual seats, manual mirrors...... she's a lightweight for sure.

Oh yeah, the WS6 is done. all the parts are coming off and the shell is being scrapped. Call it an organ doner, the powertrain will live again.

                        • Not to break etiquette before the mourning for your poor wounded bird is over.....but.... are you planning to part out the non-drive train parts?

I know it's tough to part with it but that's the safest thing to do.

                            • A transplant into the Camaro would make a really nice track car. You get to use the heart of the Bird, with the benefit of a lighter car.

Screw for the drivetrain to go in the Camaro.... Do it now!!!!

                              ...Or wait. Whatever works.

I'm getting ready to start the teardown of the WS6. Stuff is getting boxed up, documented and put aside. I just want to make sure I get the powertrain running prior to pullout, it's easier in the long run.
