Mind you I live in Georgia so there is only one spot in the yard that is soft. That is right over the septic tank. I got down to where the post hole diggers were completely under the surface. Night time was coming so I needed to quit for the day and some how camouflage the 5 foot deep hole I had dug. So I went and got a metal trash can lid, flipped it upside down and cover it with the dirt and grass I had dug up. I took a shovel and cut a nice lip on the top of the hole so when you put the lid on it you couldn't tell it was there. So off to bed I go. I woke up the next morning to the sound of my dad cutting the grass. I ran over to the window just in time to see him step on the lid, watch it collapse and him go down. Luckily he didn't break anything. He cam inside and asked why I had dug a hole. I told him I was building my Hogan's Hero's tunnel and he thought it was so funny I didn't get a whipping. I did have to fill the hole back in.
