Your evil
Gauss... gotta agree, love Free Body Diagrams to explain forces. I really think the crux of the problem demonstrates that something simple to grasp for one is not easily understood by others, thus causing an intractable situation where explanation and demonstration aren't enough for them to conceptualize...

folks need to understand transfer of energy and work performed. It's hard for them to realize that the coveyor belt's abitity to perform work on a non stationary and uncoupled object. (meaning the wheels move and the airplane performs work via pushing against air and not the ground)
but anyway..... it's fun to watch the drama.

Totally off topic guys but did you see the one where the tested the myth that elephants were afraid of mice? They tested and it came out Plausible!!! Every time the put a mouse in front of the elephant, it turned and went in the other direction.2006 Saturn Ion Redline

I'll have to agree with the laws of physics.
Next up: If a show was taped and not aired, was it ever really taped at all?
First, for those concerned that this story has been cancelled, don't worry, planes on a conveyer belt has been filmed, is spectacular, and will be part of what us Mythbusters refer to as 'episode 97'. Currently that is due to air on January 30th.
Secondly, for those very aggrieved fans feeling "duped" into watching tonight's show, I can only apologise. I'm not sure why the listings / internet advertised that tonight's show contained POCB. I will endeavour to find out an answer but for those conspiracy theorists amongst you, I can assure you that it will have just been an honest mistake.Joe K.

I have a theory. Even when the Myth boys show that it is actually possible for a plane to take off from a conveyor belt, there will still be some die hards that still say that it is impossible. Mark my words. LOL
