I got to thinking about when I had that car. I remember driving in traffic and in any wet weather, I couldn't even keep pace with normal traffic. The slightest bit of throttle and the front tires instantly just lit up and along with it went any directional control. While at speed I could nudge the throttle and turn the steering wheel from left to right and it was just like skating on ice.

In the dry though, if the tires hooked, the torque steer even with equal length shafts and LSD was enough to make the car want to turn right. 190 HP in a 1750 lb car is fun. Embarassed quite a few new Vettes of the day.

        This is from another Forum:
With no fan fare or announcement from Pontiac, there is a new option today as fastmike has pointed out, and Andrew Jackson first found clues to. It is the Z0K-Club Sport Package.

The online order guides, VOMS and GM AutoBook (the sales tool on salesperson's computers) all have been updated to include it.

        Z0K-Club Sport Package includes JL9-Brakes, 4-wheel antilock, G80-Differential, limited slip, read end and FE3-Suspension, 4-wheel independent, Sport-tuned.

No information could be found about the specific upgrades in the FE3-Suspension over the current suspension. It may, be a pull ahead of some of the 2007 GXP components. But no information yet.

Important note, no other options may be ordered with the Z0K-Club Sport.

Also keep in mind that one will need to keep an eye on wheel constraints, since only the base wheel is available with this new option.

MSRP for the package is $1,095.
im familiar with that one then, the 08 gxp is pretty tight.. but he needs to mod his motor to go with the suspension stuff...for sure.

Guys with Solstices. Any of you in the 6'2" height range? I'm wondering how the headroom is with the top up. Fiance says she wants one after awhile.
1997 Pontiac Grand Am, 216k+ miles and still moving fast
2004 Pontiac Grand Am SCT, but 35k on the clock
1983 Male Driver, driving Front Wheel Drive only, for now

I have one - a CRV to get me through the snow. It is OK for a DD, but nothing to be proud of or excited about. Does 0-60 in 8.3 sec, but has won a couple on ramp duels. Something to be said for 120k on the clock and original brakes, clutch, CV joints - nothing significant ever goes wrong with it. Wish I had something cooler for a DD though - but its gotta be able to go thru 6" of snow, get good mileage, and be able to haul a few things.

BTW, I like that fixed roof coupe solstice.

My 96 Accord had the base motor and automatic and it did get up and go pretty well. Paint integrity was terrible, just look at it wrong and it would chip, hated the seats and no antilock brakes. Great A/C! Bought the car for $2K, put about another $500 into it. Drove it for a couple years and 30K in miles. Got more for it than what I had in it when I went away.

Too bad the Mallet Solstices are $50k or I'd get one - or maybe the Sky which I like a little better. LS2 in a car like that - now that would be fun!

                            its great!!! lol
back to the topic though, i like the Targa style roof, i wonder why they didn't do a "Hardtop-Convertible roof" unless it would have thrown off the weight distribution too much.... not likely.

After really looking at the photos, I really like the coupe. Saturn must be following suit with a version as well.
