Bush ruined the country! High gas prices, which he has absolutely no say in, are all his fault! He's also responsible for the excessive rate in which squirrels are becoming road kill!

In the most respectful manner I can, I really hope you aren't voting in November. This has no bearing on which side I'd assume you'd vote (Obama), but more for the fact you seem misguided on how our government actually works.

The war in Iraq bothered me from the start. But what really bothered me was when he rejected the free health insurance for kids. I taught in a lower class school where some students were uninsured and adopted. Just irks me.

That bothered me too... I think that was one of the lowest things he has done...

Don't get me wrong... I don't agree with everything Bush has done. There are several things I heavily disagree with him about.

But when people start blaming him for the high gas prices, I just can't understand that thinking (or lack thereof).

                      Easy, fella...

We're all family here. I'm not attacking you personally. It's just that there are far too many people who bash our prez without a true reason other than what they here other people say.

Some very short but quick myths about the war...

                      1) We are not in Iraq for WMDs. We are there for a regime change. The old regime allowed Al Quida to live and train within it's borders, even supporting them. WMDs were a threat, not the reason.

                      2) We are not fighting for oil. A lot of the same people that claim Bush is the reason for high gas prices, also claim he is occupying Iraq for oil. If that were the case, I wouldn't be paying $4.35 a gallon.

                      3) The war is not a failure. On the contrary, since the US surge, extreme strides have been made. The Iraqi people have been enjoying freedoms they would never have known before. Sure there have been pockets of fighting, but that's what happens when one regime falls and another is put in place.

Vote for Obama if you will. I'm not going to bash you for it. As long as you know the facts going in, and you enter the voting booth with an educated mind, pull that Obama lever. That's what's so great about America... Something the Iraqi people will now be able to fully experience.

I try not to respond too much to political stuff, but the Bush scapegoat strategy is getting old:

                        Economy:

                        1. Credit Crisis - started long before Bush. Bush is not responsible for people buying more house or goods then they can afford. People are loosing homes because of their OWN bad decisions.

                        2. Energy - the environmental stand on energy started long before Bush. This country took the stand that we will not drill on our own land; we will not build refineries so we are paying for it now. Establishing ANWAR in Alaska in 1999 was one of the dumbest things done by the Clinton Administration especially with the problems we are facing today. Through three decades of bad energy decisions we are at the mercy of the global market. Hold on to your trousers; it is going to be one heck of a ride!!!

                        3. Inflation - this equals stagflation which was a new term created in the 70s when high energy costs caused inflation and a recession with a huge loss of jobs.

                        War:

                        1. Taking on terrorists is a good thing. We failed in the 70s', did it in the 80s', and failed again in the 90s.

                        2. Invading Iraq and Afghanistan are good things. Trying to establish a democracy in a Middle East country is a fool's errand. We should have done our business and left while leaving the message: "...promote terrorism, we will invade again!" The cost of reconstruction was not necessary and I have a problem with the money and lives spent.

                        Problems:

Energy: How do we sustain our economy. If the Dems take complete control and listen to the Sierra Club...we are most certainly screwed. However, I am not convinced that McCain will push off industrial special interests necessary to make the changes required. This is the most defining issue in our nation. Our health, standard of living, property rights, and public peace are all at stake. We stand to lose everything with the wrong policy.

War: People are weary of war. However, we must end this conflict strategically or we will be faced with a more serious problem in the future.

Overall: Bush miscalculated on his war effort and it turned into a mess. Bush has no control over the global demand for oil and the shrinking production of oil thus the huge cost increases. Bush has no control over the impact of rising energy or the credit problems people created for themselves. I am not a Bush supporter, but the Democrats ran two very socialist leaning candidates against Bush. Again, Obama is another socialist candidate who I will not support; I know without a shadow of a doubt he will bow down to Sierra Club policy on the energy issue which will kill us. I am not a fan of McCain, but Obama is not a patriot, he is not a commander and chief, and he does not support individual freedoms that I hold dear.
