Ok, I'm a bit calmed down after all of this and thought I'd post my experience.

So I came out of the Olive Garden at about 12:45 Saturday and was about to hop in my car when I heard a lady scream. Now I've heard kids scream when I'm teaching so it's no big deal and I tune it out.....but then I remember a lady being robbed at the bank beside the Olive Garden on Sunday last week. So I jogged up on top of a small hill to see what was happening. A dude and a lady were chillin at the ATM and I'm like OK, whatever.
Then he starts walking quickly away and I finally realize what is going on and yell "HEY!" then he flashes a silver pistol in my direction... and I just remember thinking "JESUS C****!" At that point I already had my cell in my hand ready to dial 911. My call had already been connected to the 911 operator before he even got in his brand new black Impala and peeled out. He leaves the PNC bank and passes me and stares directly at me as I read his plate and yell at the lady to remember the tag.
The cops come and I give a full description of what happened. Turns out there was another lady who watched from a distance. The cops were very grateful for the info we collected since there were no witnesses to last week's robbery. This robbery happened a week to the day, just in the afternoon. The victim said he went up to her and said "you're going to withdraw $400." She laughed and thought he was kidding until he showed her the gun.
I got a call from the detectives today around 9 and noon today to tell me that the dude shot himself in his car when the police served a search warrant on him. Turns out the plates WERE a match to a black impala.
It was quite an ordeal. It has made me think about purchasing a gun and getting a permit to carry...the sight of that gun is something I will never forget.
