Odd thing is...GM already has a killer 3.6L DI engine. As found in my Enclave, it puts out 285(?). But in the Cadillac and the Camaro, it's over 300.

Not sure why they don't slap a turbo on it, like they did with the 4-cyl. DI engine in the Cobalt SS. Even with low boost, the 3.6L will put out close to 400 hp. It's built rock-solid (numerous forged internals, oil squirters, reinforced head and block, etc.)

Makes you wonder whose really inc charge at GM...

If Ford can brag about their twin turbo Ecoboost V6, making only 360 hp, what the heck is GM for?

Oil pump needed a new gasket, problem solved. Went for a test drive, a couple guys in a new GT500 Mustang were gawking at the old buick in traffic.

Thank you for the effort taking vid and pics and putting them online for us to see. The car sounds and looks grrreat! Can't wait for your stories of kills and their reactions. My '78 grand LeMans had a 231 v6 the predecessor to your motor, at 27 years old and 246,000 miles that motor wouldn't quit! The car was worn away but that motor remained perfect! You're motor will outlast the frame! I'm really happy for you

Ahh.... you guys forget that this is a garage queen down in sunny Florida.

It will get creamed in a parking lot by some half blind old fart long before it rusts.

I was thinking this motor in the Fiero/Ferrari would be awsome.

I've done a few test drives, the motor is sweet. LOTS of torque. I'll have to be careful, this build wasn't meant to be a track car.

Just have to get time to work out all the other stuff like climate control, fuel gauge and a good tune. Last will be all the cosmetics.

                              Thanks for all the encouragement!

It's a different kind of musclecar for sure. Neat to tinker with. Haul some serious butt for cheap $$. I always wanted to pick up a Turbo T with all the regular chrome trim and bench seat, build that in to a serious kick butt sleeper. Imagine getting your doors blown off by a chrome bumpered grandpa mobile that runs a 10.50.........

That would be fun, vinyl roof and all.

I'll post what's been going on with me in another thread. No sense hijacking this one.

Have you dug into the suspension yet? Also, I'll have to post some pics for you once I start the new instrumentation project.
