The irony of this thread is I just came back from driving the GN. Wouldn't you know it, this guy in a new Mustang weaves in and out of traffic to get up next to me at a red light. He throws a rev, so I look over and he motions for me to roll down the window. I thought "uh oh, I don't need this right now."

I roll down the window and the guy starts telling me how badazz my GN is and goes on about how he got stomped at the track by a stock looking T- type. Turns out he didn't want any part of the old Buick. I paid him a compliment on a good looking ride and slowly pulled away from the light. OK, so I lied....... the rear of that car is still butt ugly but I just couldn't tell him that.

Still don't think the Musn'tangs have the ergonomics of the F-body. Us 6'3" people would hate to have our right knee always in the dash or against the center console all the friggin time. It's sort of like Nike and their shoes as they are the same price despite the size so Nike makes their shoes narrower as they make them longer, trying to pigeon hole their entire customer line into a small boxy, cheaply-made undersized uncomfortable cockpit. It could have 750 hp, if it isn't comfortable It ain't worth even my two cents (That's one reason why I like F-body's) in short I'm along with Kerm/Wolfman here in saying

            IT'S STILL A MUSTANG

Anyone else notice that the Hyundai Genesis Coupe has fallen off the radar when it comes time to talk about pony cars these days?

I never cared for the looks of the Genesis either but the ricers probably still like them.

That's because its really only competition for the v-6 Camaro and Mustang. I actually really like the car, but if i was to get one it would be a stick turbo 4. As it is supposed to be very easy to tune the computer for upgrades.

Hey Red...you might want to rethink that 6'3" statement about the Mustang, since the Camaro has issues with tall people too.

From what I've heard, the roof is very low in the Camaro. My buddy, at 6'1" felt cramped in the Camaro, even to the point that his hair was rubbing the interior. He had to recline his seat way back so he wouldn't hit his head.

I can't confirm this though, as I've never sat in one. But most magazine reviews seem to have a similar description of the Camaro - very tight, poor outward visibility, huge A-pillar, and high sills - which all lead to feeling cramped in what should be a large interior.

I hate to admit it, but the power and price of the 11 Mustang has me taking a second look.

Motor Trend (which historically has slow 1/4 mile times) clicked off a 12.7 at 110 mph in the Mustang. Not too shabby...

The Camaro was almost a full half second behind...

Maybe GM will hurry up the weight loss program, or at least drop in the LSA and keep the price under $40k.

but the numbers dont lie...I'd take a five oh crustang over the new camaro. I can't get over the maro's weight disadvantage and so so handling. Even after mods, I can't get over the interior.

I agree, the interior is atrocious. Good look replacing the stereo.

I read an article where they said that the new V6 in the Mustang is good but not much of an improvement over previous V6's. The powerband of the motor requires that if you want torque you need to give it some revs. Much of the torque is not available until 4000 RPMs. The tires were described as being "too skinny to generate enough grip, or look good."

The Camaro V6 really isn't in danger, but if they don't do something with the V8 models, the Rustang may pass it by. Why on earth they put the Camaro on such a large chassis to begin with is beyond me.

What article did you read? Every article I have read about the new V-6 for the Mustang says it is way better than the old one. Ford is giving GT options to the V-6 for suspension, wheels, and brakes as well since the performance level is real close to the 4.6 GT. The V-6 on that will move.
                            http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t_numbers.html
They placed it second behind the Genesis because the Genesis "feels" more like a sports car but the numbers tell a different story. 5.1sec 0-60 and 13.7 1/4 mile is not good enough? Thats not much behind the 4.6 V-8 from the Mustang. The Camaro V-6 had better watch its back! Ford came to the table with this one.

Wow. I have to say that I'm a little impressed. A v-6 mustrag with a 5.1 second 0-60 blast is impressive. the 102 mph trap speed is a little low but what the heck....... it's respectable. Still can't get past that ugly looking rear.

My wife and I just got back from a week on vacation in Florida. We were in Orlando and Tampa. We decided on a 2010 Mustang V6 hardtop for our rental car.

I was impressed. It drove very nice and felt like solid quality. The only complaint I had about the driving position was that there was no place to comfortably rest my right elbow on the center console. The drink holder is right there.

I really liked all the multi colored LED lighting accents in the interior. The gauges have halo lights around them, the cupholders light up, the "mustang" script on the door sills lights up, there are accent lights behind the door handles as well as in the footwells both front and rear. You can adjust the color and brightness of all of them. red blue green purple orange, etc. It's pretty cool.

                                A couple other annoyances:
There is no cancel button for the cruise control - a pet peave of mine. But it did have flash for pass, which is a feature I love.
The seats do not return to their recline position when you tip them forward to put something inthe back seat. You have to reset the recline position every time.

As far as the power went, it felt fast enough for a V6 car to me. It had good grunt right off the line and good traction. I also couldn't fault the car on its looks. I does have the classic Mustang appeal. The proportions looked right to me.

I liked the new wheels on it and how the 4 wheel disc brakes complimented them. The car stopped nicely and inspired confidence when driven hard.

What's not to like? Honestly, as far as the driving experience goes it is light years ahead of our f-bodies. The V6 model is about as fast as our V8 models, too.
