I figured I'd add to the Sringtime mods list.... I ordered a set of chrome SLP center caps for my ZR1 wheels. I little chrome bling in the center will look nice. The SLP logo will go nicely with the hood and ramair.

Ok, I'm too old to be cool. What does the ghetto slang mean? I understood everything but:

            Shankin' foos ??

            Jump-off ??

Man I love Summit. Can't beat their service, shipping or pricing system. Plus, since they now carry GMPP and SLP stuff, I have 2 more excuses to order from them lol

                    Update:

The QTP (QuickTime Performance) electric cutout for the Borla came today.

I have tons of pictures, if anyone is interested. I installed it in the Borla with the stainless screws and some anti-sieze. The quality appears to be top notch.

It scared me at first, though. I was bench-testing it and could not get it to move. The motor would hum, but it was like it was stuck. I smacked it once real good on the table top and it started working. It works fine now, and I'm hoping this little event will not come to haunt me in the future.

The car is still sitting an storage, so I haven't had a chance to hear it yet. I'm sure I will like it, though. It looks great sitting on the living room floor. My wife must really love me.

She asked me why I needed to spend money on an electric valve in the exhaust. She wondered why all cars don't have one if it is so great. I guess there are some things that some people just don't understand.

I have the borla adjustable on my vert, it is slightly louder when the top is up but not annoying, much deeper and powerful tone. You can adjust it to be as lous as you want it as well. I have received tons of compliments on this exhaust system plus it will last due to the SS construction. The tips look great too. With the top down again its slightly louder. I have played around with the adjuster plates a bit, by opeining up the exhaust I can tell no difference in performance, but definitely in sound.

                              Hey TraceZ,

I got into this conversation really late, but wanted to throw in my 2 cents.

I did a 383 build up on my 93 Formula a couple years ago, so I know the process you are going thru.

Definitely do the headers. I did Hooker Shorties with a full cat (for emmisions testing), and the Borla w/ the McCord Powerplate (same as QTP).

And it sounded awesome. To be honest as great as the 383 was, that little switch on the Powerplate was my favorite toy. I would pull up next to people in traffic with it closed, and then open up and blip the throttle. Ahhh, good times. Peoples faces were hilarious.

You can check out my rebuild here. http://www.angelfire.com/oh3/frmlav8/rebuild.html

Nice pictures! Why did you sell it? I have begrudgingly accepted that I will need headers. I'm looking at the SLP ceramic coated shortys. I realize there might be better choices for maximum power, but I'm mostly interested in quality, fit and emissions legality. Plus, I like the SLP name.
