I had the Trans Am, so the Formula was my wifes daily driver. She loved it, but after the rebuild it was just too much car for her. And it wasn't much of a daily driver car anymore, especially in the winters of Ohio. We needed a car we could drive in the winter, so we sold it and got her a Grand Am.

Plus it ended up costing a lot more than I wanted and there was still work that needed to be done.

I loved that car though, it was baby. My first F-body - that started a terrible obsession with power.

      **Update**

The Hood and ramiar kit have arrived.
The Strut Tower Brace and K&N filter will arrive tomorrow.

All other parts are here! Hopefully I will be able to get the car out of storage this weekend and bring it home to test-fit the hood. Once it is test fit I will take it to the body shop for paint.

I picked up a Fernco 3" rubber pipe adapter at Home depot last night to use instead of the part SLP sent.

I read about the hot water trick to soften it up for install, are there any other tips?

I've noticed the the TB sits a little lower than the maf and the stock part has a slight accomodation for this. Does that pose a problem with the fernco or is it flexable enough to move?

I trimmed a little of the pipe off to make it fit better. You can trim about 1/4" off the top side that goes on the MAF, so it will angle a little better.

You will see what I mean when you go to put it on.
There is a picture on my website.

                http://www.angelfire.com/oh3/frmlav8/tahpmods.htm

Also if the hot water doesn't work you can put the fernco in the microwave(w/o the clamps) for about 5-10 seconds to soften it up.

                        status report!

The mods are going well. Everything has been installed and things look good so far. The hood had to be removed to be taken to the body shop for paint. It still sits there, for Gary to have time for it. He is really busy because their drivers wrecked a couple cars last time they raced and he needs to fix them.

The exhaust with QTP valve are installed and work great.

The shock tower brace is installed with no issues.

The ramir setup installed with no issue and here are a couple pictures so far. I'll have more pictures better posed outdoors after the painted hood is installed.

No, that is still on a stand in the garage for $$. I still need heads, cam, rods, pistons, fuel rails, injectors, bearings, rings and crank. I have everything else. I have a set of stock PM rods but I'd like to go with a longer length. I hear good things about long rod engines.

My next mod will be midlength headers. Then I'll be looking to get into the new motor more seriously.
