Tax reform has been talked about so many times it has become a major joke. But that is exactly what we need to put the tax situation in proper perspective. If private businesses operated the way our government does.........i.e. with little accountability............they would all go bankrupt.

The best thing you can do for yourself is understand the taxing structure and do everything humanly possible to minimize the impact on yourself. Here in South Carolina for instance, we pay huge personal property taxes on cars and boats. You buy a new car and you will pay thru the nose for many many years until the car starts to loose it's value. When I moved here in 2001 we had two 2000 model cars that cost me $2400 per year in personal property taxes. For a car buff, you are better off having an awesome old musclecar than a brand new on such as a GTO or a Vette. That is the type of choice I am talking about. Many North Carolinians in Charlotte, NC drive just over the state line into South Carolina to buy their gas because there is 10 cents less tax per gallon on SC gas. So like I said there are ways to minimize tax impacts....these are just two examples.
same thing in many counties in VA.. personal prop. tax... and on everything! jet ski's, boats, 4 wheelers, cars, you name it...

"privalge to own and play with toys in our state.."

that it in a nut shell............
