This is the best quote in that article.

"SRT8 model will have an ''infusion of Street and Racing Technology (SRT) DNA. That means it will provide exactly what performance enthusiasts want in their American muscle sedan: more power, world-class ride and handling, benchmark braking, functional and aggressive-looking exterior enhancements, and a race-inspired interior."

hmmm, sounds like what we are talking about.

I can't believe they made the Charger a 4 door. They almost got it right.

Yeah, they almost got it right. Thats more than I can say for GM. And it will be affordable to the puplic too.

Mark, we should go up there and throw them out of the office. We could do a better job.

Are they trying to go bankrupt???????

Do they want us to go else where to buy????????

Its really getting sad. Next we'll find out that GM is getting out of the car buisness to manufacture tv's!

The marketing stuff that was rammed down my throat during my master's program really makes me question their marketing staff at GM. It really doesn't seem that they understand the concepts of market saturation, market need, and targeting. They are just too bloated at that company. It is a big bureaucracy; kinda like government and terribly inefficient. If we went over there, we would just pull our hair out in frustration.

Come on? Next year you can get the FWD Impala SS with a 5.3 stuffed in there. You will be the envy of all with that recycled Lumina nose cone.

The principle stockholders need to re-evaluate the current management and start delivering pink slips. Some of the futile R&D funds squandered could be used to lure better people into GM's management.

                          Not bad looking at all....

GM's problem is by the time they get around to doing something, the market has passed. They are focusing on a new line of trucks and SUV's. Did they read the latest Money magazine that said the large truck and SUV market sales have fallen quite a bit lately and that car sales are on the rise....

                          Duh....

Actually, they are getting tremendously better with this. I would put my truck against the quality of a Chevy truck any day especially the '88-'98 models...yuck! I bought it from the original owner, and I have all of the maintenance receipts. The truck has had one problem in 111,000 miles; the thermostat. The body is solid, the trans is solid, the motor is solid, I have zero complaints with this truck. My Xs Concorde had a few build quality issues, but the engine trans was excellent (if you purchased the 3.2/3.5, it did great...maybe a replaced sensor in the tranny, however, I am faced with this on my Bonneville; at least the Chrysler sensors can be changed without pulling apart the transmission). The 2.7 was complete garbage; and I feel sorry for anybody who purchased a car with that horrible motor. Chrysler products in the 70s and 80s were junk. Chrysler stuff in the 90s was improved but not great. They got better with the '98 release of cars, but still needed improvement. This new platform is incredible...there isn't one GM that I have seen out there that can compare to the build quality of the 300/Magnum. We shall see how the new generation of these cars do as people put miles on them.

On a side note. My mom's '00 Park Avenue was a lemon...constantly stalled through intersection, climate control was replaced twice, so on and so on; mom sold the car with 35,000 miles and $20,000 loss.. The build quality on my Bonneville is not all that great, and we all know the problems that plagued our f-bodies. I don't know...I think this argument is holding less and less weight with me.

Ken - I have to say that my 2001 S10 crew cab that I bought new is the biggest POS I have ever owned. It was in 13 times in 30 month. It had less than 27k miles on it. I've had body issues, engine issues, 4wd issues and drive line issues. I was trying to get GM to buy it back. The jerks at the customer care center would not let me talk with the local rep. If they didn't give me an extended warranty, the thing would have been gone. Now my 2004 Impala LS has been in twice once for a 4 rotors warped and now the "door ajar" message is coming on and the power locks cycle while your driving. Not bad for a car that's a year old and only has 7K miles.

So if quality control is an issue, then GM not the greatest. That's also not talking about my wifes 2002 firebird that has 24k on it and has been in 4 or 5 times for stuff.

Sorry to rant, but you pay good money and then you have to deal with these problems..

I hope you have better luck with your Envoy's...
