I have a 95 Firebird Formula M6. Only mods are catback exhaust and intake. It is in need of suspension really bad and i was going to go with bilstien shocks and eibach prokit. But i know it will lower it and i want to put longtubes on it in the future. I was wondering what anyones suggestion would be to keep factory ride height or close to it but still get some higher performance suspension. This car is my daily driver and a weekend warrior at the drag strip.any help would be greatly appreciated.

The general consensus is lowering will make the straight line traction worse.
To help straight line traction I would suggest lower control arm relocation mounts http://www.bmrfabrication.com/F-bodyDrivetrain.htm#cab2 or http://www.spohn.net/category.cfm?categoryid=1042 . Better lower control arms should help but I'm not convinced how much.
Here is some really good info on springs.

its more wit the taller tires like if i put 225/60R16 instead of 245/50R16 the sidewall isnt as stiff and it starts to roll over on in itself when pushed hard( i notice it when i dirve my dads tbird2009 Honda Civic EX- the daily beater
