I can't say I has any horrible times at college. Never really had any great ones either though... I was just one of those few that skated through never really having to do much studying. I took some notes that I skimmed over for 5 minutes right before an exam. I'm a very verbal learner, once I hear something it sticks with me (as long as I'm paying attention) so I never really needed to study much to get the 3.4 I graduated with. Part of me is kicking myself for not applying myself and working harder... I could've probably gotten honors pretty easily.

I was never much of a partier either, most of my off time from school was either spent at work or on trips back home to see my girlfriend at the time, and we had a son in my junior year so priorities changed.

Thats how I am in a lot of classes but some like my bio class are mainly just memorization. I never took a book home or studied for a minute my entire time in high school and graduated with honors so once I got to college I got one of the biggest shocks of my life. Luckily I had a test 3 weeks in and decided I didn't need to study and failed it that gave me a real quick reality check. I don't have to spend that much time studying for some classes but for others I really have to apply myself.

BTW I went to bed last night around 9:30 after being up for about 35 hours and just woke up around 1 its a good thing I don't have class till 4 lol.

My worst, by far, was Ear Training....which I took when I was majoring in music. It was taught by this guy who was a conductor for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Holy crap, this guy expected all of us first year students to have the ears of musicians playing in his orchestra, I swear. The class consisted of a small amount of music theory, then he would sit down..tell us to take out a sheet of staff paper...tell us what time he would be playing in, and what note he was starting with...then he would play a succession of notes and we were to write out, on the staff paper, what he just played. Talk about freakin hard. Then he would play a triad (a series of three notes) and ask us to tell him what the notes of the triad were. etc etc etc. Needless to say, I got an F in that class. I think out of about 20 students in the class, 2 passed. I decided after that semester that I wasn't cut out to be a music major, but was told by a guy I took the class with that he re-took the class the next semester and had a different teacher who made it make alot more sense and actually TAUGHT the class instead of testing the class on it every day. I just wish now that I have been on an 8 year hiatus from college that I would have known then what I wanted to do with my life. Life would have to be alot better for me than it is now....

Oh my..... that brings back memories. I used to nail that stuff, having done it since the time I was a kid. You're not alone....... there were so many that were taking that class that had trouble with it.
