Don't ya just love that feeling? I had two kids in either an '03 or '04 GT messing with me about a week ago. He had an exhaust for sure, but I don't know about anything else. He pulled up next to me, gave me a look, and revved his car. I just looked back at him, and didn't even bother to rev....just gave it a quick extra throttle. He came up beside me again, and we both nailed it from about 25. I broke my tires loose a lil bit, and was just gone. I pulled on him decently from the start, and was nicely ahead of him when 85 came.

Then again, his was stick, so maybe he couldn't drive it too well... the less got smoked

I personally would never own any newer mustang. Although an improvement to those hideous late 90's-2000's, I still don't like the new design.

I don't like the body kit. It makes the car look too "fat" where it shouldn't be.....namely the rear end and the rocker panels. I prefer the stock Mustang GT.

That's the best feeling in the world . I would've paid money to see the guy's face when my dad blasted one of the first Z06's out in the GN.

I'm working a trade right now. My 02 SS for an 05 GT. I know it is slower, but I am tired of the F-Body. I've had 3 since 97. Not to mention, I'm so damn old (42 lol) it is time to slow down. My SS is an auto and I'm planning on the 5 speed so that alone will make it fun again. I just get tired of them after a while. I was never happy with the SS because I am a Pontiac guy at heart. I had 2 black WS6s. Now if I could find a perfect 02 Black WS6, that would work too...........

Another dealer came on to my lot yesterday in a new blue Saleen. There nice but for the $'s I figured it would be faster. Big'ol 20 in wheels! I like them with out all the body kits and cladding. It has that classic shape without that stuff like the gt500! Now thats sweet! You know its only taken ford 10 years to catch up with the f-body when you talk about power and speed. But thats another story. All those new tuner (saleen, rousch, steeda) mustangs are still to slow for the $ IMAO.

Ford to me has absolutely no new ideas. When they couldn't get faster than the ls1's or lt1's for all those years they decided to throw a blower on the cobra because they couldn't compete.

Now, in the marketplace they are retreading old desings because they haven't designed a good pony car since the 60's. Not to mention rolling out the gt40 based on another retread design. Yes they are updating them, but it is what it is.

                I think it's a joke personally.

With that said, I respect the performance attainment of the new Cobra's, but isn't the standard GT just reaching 300 horses about seven or eight years late......?

Don't fret anyway guys. GM is not going to show up at your door to take your car away! We still have our cars. And we will continue to kick Ford booty

I just took the Roush for a spin.

The experience was great. The quality was impressive. The car is really put together well. The interior as really well built and puts our f-cars to shame. The windows go 1/4 inch into the roof when closed and when you lift the door handle they drop down to allow the door to open. The vents in the dash close flat when not in use. The switch gear is all well layed out and of high quality. The gages were indiglo Roush customs, but lacking oil pressure and volts gauges. I would had liked to see them there. There is a dead pedal for your left foot, but at the same time the center console intruded on my right knee a bit to far. The steering wheel has controls for cruise control, but not the radio. The seats and seating position are in the tradition on Mustang. It sits you up higher than a f-body and the bolsters in the power seats are less pronounced. There is lumbar support as well. The turn signals make a click sound that is reminisant of older cars but is produced via modern electronic means. They really paid attention to the details in this car.

The clutch for the 5-speed manual felt great. It is a hydraulic Valeo design similar to ours. The rear ratio is 3.55:1 and the 5th gear overdrive is .675:1 giving a really nice feel at cruise speeds. Handling was very predictable but because it was not my car I was very easy on it. It is comfortable at highway speeds and had great steering feedback.

The exhaust note is very nice. At city speeds in second gear you can hear the tone well. It is deep and throaty like you would imagine a classic Mustang would sound. This Roush stage I car has a revised exhaust system on it as well. It does not have the 18" Roush wheels, though which I tought would had been a nice extra.

I'm still a Camaro guy, but if I were a Mustang guy I would want one of these cars. They are making them in ragtops soon. I really wish Chevrolet would get back on their horse and build a Camaro that had the build quality of these new Mustangs. It would be a car to own, that is for sure. I really prefer the seating position of the Camaro over the Mustang. I like the full gauges in f-bodies and there is always the fact that the f-body was making 300 HP back in 1998 and the Mustang is just now getting there in 2005. It will be interesting to see what Ford does with this new Mustang over the next 5 years. We really need the f-body to return. Please here our cries, GM.

                          New Stang

It suprises me that nobody else thinks GM is sitting on its big fat Duff, while Ford comes out with cool cars. Like it or not the Mustang is a hot seller, that they can't make enough of, note the list. Outside of the Vette, and the so called GTO, which to me looks like a rice burner with a V-8 in it. Ford is kicking GMs butt, and I say more power to em. The morons at GM are trying to copy the rice burners. Well they can keep that garbage. I'll keep my 95 forever, and just keep rebuilding it.

JuicedSS - you don't know what you want. You are too old and want to slow down, but you want to go from an auto to a 5 speed to make it fun ??? Just picking on ya

That car in the pictures has issues with all the cladding - that front end looks bulbous and bulky like a ricer double-sided-sticky-tape body kit stuck on over the original bumper. Those window louvers are more stick-on junk. No, I like them better stock - they look sharp, especially in a dark blue metallic.
