A friend of mine has an 03 gt vert auto (its his moms) he was going on and on about how fast it was today and thats was getting on my nerves. I dont want to race him simply because my license are worth more to me than pride. I was just wondering what are the performance values on them and compared to a 96 z a4

If you can get a good launch, you'll smack him easy. If not, it'll be close, but you should still be able to beat him. Go to the track and educate him on Bowtie PowerSteve

My friend's dakota R/T is right there or beating most stock GT's. And he only ran 14.5 last time he went to the track, although he is a little faster now i won't expect it to be by much. Now my car on the other hand, i'm lucky to beat most rice2006 Saturn Ion Redline

The Fords are down quite a bit on HP (260 vs your 285) and the convertable will be heavier than your Camaro for sure. I know I just had my 1994 Z28 dynoed and I was putting down 270rwhp and 316 tq on my stock motor with 147k miles. A 2005 Mustang GT pulled in after me and only put down 265hp and 285tq.....
Last I knew, the new GT's are even heavier than last year's body style, so theoretically I should be able to beat him if we're both in stock form.
Also, your buddy's mom's car probably has 235's or something (stock tire width) but your Z should have at least 245's on there (stock). The additional tire width, lower tire pressure, higher hp, lower weight, etc all should add up to a definite win for you unless he's a better driver, gets a better launch, or has had some significant work done to the car while mommy wasn't watching.

Higher pressure in the front tires will have lower resistance. slightly smaller tread in the ground.
