There is track, point to point and endurance. It is a different kind of game. It's not all about customizing. It's more driving, competition and performance upgrades. It's just a whole different game.

In other words, unless you spend tons of money the ricers are slow.....just like real life!!

Definitely something I'm going to have to pick up. Quick question on the game... How realistic is the damage modeling?

The damage modeling looks really good. One of the best games I've seen. I'm not sure if you have ever played the TOCA games like Pro Race Driver, but it's not quite on that level. In that game you can have tires and wheels fall off and you can actually retire from a race because of it. In Forza, the damage looks cool and really affects the handling.

I had a time yesterday where I hit a wall pretty hard. When I started to pull away the car was pulling to the left and the tranny was not shifting...all I had was fourth gear! I am using the Mad Catz wheel and sitting there slamming the shifter with nothing happening!

I was like now this is cool.

I'll have to grab it on my way home from work today. I love GT4, but no damage modeling is a big disappointment, even though it has everything to do with licensing.

I just hope the Need For Speed franchise goes back to it's roots with supercars and muscle cars instead of the ricer games it puts out now.

I agree with the need for speed thing.

I've been saying this for a long time now, and am very surprised that no one has put anything like this out yet. Why not make a racing game that has literally every american muscle car you can think of, as well as all the new american sports cars. As for the imports, I'd put in only the exotics, and anything that is legitimately fast. How cool would it be if you got to choose from any muscle car you could ever think of, and have them line up in the quarter against any newer sports car you could think of.

Have many different types of tracks and racing as well. How awesome would it be to have an in car view of a '70 chevelle ss, '69 hurst olds, '87 grand national, '02 WS6, '06 Z06, '05 or '68 goat.....on your screen you see the tree right in front of you, got some other sick @ss car in the other lane, laying down some $$$ on the race.....
black 95 t/a, a4, beefed up tranny w/ higher stall converter, transgo shift kit, trans temp gauge, trans cooler, richmond 3.73's, loudmouth, hypertech programmer, 160 thermo, descreened maf, TB bypass and airfoil, trick flow intake elbow, underdrive pulleys, moroso cai, edelbrock panhard rod, bmr stb, slp sfc's, fiberglass firehawk hood, hawk pads, taylor wires, ngk plugs, royal purple fluids,...and hopefully more to come

Now there's a game I would have on pre-order. Unfortunately, people on this board are not the target audience... the young, ricer crowd is. It's too bad. Being able to drive cars like these would give them an education as to what a real car is. If we dumped half the amount of $$$ into mods as they did, our cars would be illegal in 36 states.

Believe it or not Sony would not pay enough to allow damage. Microsoft simply paid the money. They aren't allowed to have the cars flip, though. They do get wrecked pretty good though.

As far as the NFS games, those ricers are popular and the game sells like crazy so I think you will continue to see them.

HOWEVER, they are making another game based on the hot pursuit games and I believe it focuses on the muscle cars.

Agreed... as long as the game sells, they'll keep shipping them out. I have no problem with a game based on ricers, but I just would like to see some American muscle.

That's great news if they are re-visiting the Hot Pursuit franchise. The second one was one of the most fun games ever made. I still play it from time to time.

Picked up Forza over the weekend. It's definitely worth it. I've already got a modded GNX. The thing is a beast. It sucks there's no Firebirds, but at least there is an F-body rep. That's next on my list.

No firebirds definitly sucks, but they have a couple of Camaros and a couple of GTO's at least. Not to mention a few Corvettes!

hmmm i can see it now "Xbox launches frist all american car game" u would have every muscle car from the early 60s to early 70s and the late 80s thru 2005. imagine taking a 02 slp firehawk 345hp against a 74 super duty 455 in the 1/4 then on a track. now that something iw ould buy!

How does this game compare to GT4? Ive played GT3 tons and love it but I havent played GT4 yet. This game seems like it is very realistic and has a ton of nice cars. Also a stupid question, can you get it for PS2, or is it just an XBox thing?

                              It's a X-box only.

I think GT4 is nicer looking like the backgrounds and stuff but this game is more of a sim and thats where its designers spent there time in the game play and handling, its nice. Also I here the AI is realy something in this game. I have only played it a bit, I want to do some project gothem turning but its just not working here

You can also play online and I think GT4 you still cant. 2 more days and the next x-box is officaly shown off too

The A.I. in Forza is as realistic as I've seen in this type of game, unlike GT4 where the blindly follow a racing line whether you're there or not. The A.I. is very intelligent. I was bump-drafting the car in front of me for a couple laps, and he finally went wide before I bumped him and let me by. The following lap, he was doing it to me. I'm not sure if this is built into the game or if it was just how we were driving on that specific track, but it was cool theless.

The damage modeling also makes a huge difference. not only does it look cool, it actually affects the way your car performs and handles. Very realistic.
