  • Question about Loudmouth II

SLP website only shows it for a LS1 car. This should work fine on a LT1 car with LT Headers and Y-Pipe, correct? I got a flat the other day and it knocked a hole in my Borla. Anyone else ever experience Dayton tires gettin flats often? This is my second blowout in less than three months. I check my pressure often.

That is the same setup I am going with and yes it will work all you need is the 96-97 slp LM install kit which runs $32.00 plus shipping @ Lmperformance.com. All the kit consists of is a few brackets which allow you to mount the LM on your car because it was designed for the LS1 cars. I just bought my LM II and it should be going on in about a week so I will let you know how it goes and I will try to snap a few pics. In the next few months I am gonna pick up some coated pacesetter LT's and y-pipe and from the research I have done their will not be a problem with this setup.

Yep, I am planning on gettin new wheels in the next month or so, I think I will go with Nittos. The only reason I replaced it with another Dayton was b/c it was still covered. Pissed me off when I found the hole in my Borla.

BFG's would be a good choice too. Any reason you're not gonna call Borla and see if you can have the pipe replaced? Yes, the LM 2 will fit without a problem. It is listed only under the LS1 cars since it was made for the LS1 cars. Hence the reason the kits are listed for the LT1 cars, as Dr. Bob. pointed out. They sound close to the same (assuming you've run Borla with anything but the closed plate). If, at any time, the LM 2 muffler becomes to bulky for what you wanna do (e.g. Spohn torque arm with 2 driveshaft loops), you can replace it with a Sweet Thunder muffler, as it is the same outer diamter as the pipes, still a straight-through muffler and still sounds good. Good luck on your new (or old lol) set of pipes

I guess I could call them and see if they will replace it. I doubt it, because you can clearly tell it was damages from a shreded tire. I did call Dayton when I was upset about what happened, I should have made them replace it. I like the BFGs also, but arent they a bit more pricey than Nittos? Just curious, when the time comes I will research it more.

Well, worst case scenario, if Dayton won't cover it (even though they should), you could call Borla and see how much it costs for the pipe. I doubt they'll replace it for free, but it may be cheaper to have the piece replaced than replacing the whole system...unless you've wanted to anyways lol.

As for the tires, the Nitto 555 Extreme Performance is $158 at Discount Tire Direct while the BFG g-Force T/A KDW is $173 at Tire Rack, both in a 275/40/17. While the BFG's are $15 more/tire, I've been told you do get what you pay for. Just my 0.02

Just so you guys know, I have a Loudmouth on my car for an LS1 and it fit directly into the hangers on my LT1 car. I don't know why it fit but it did and I didn't question it. Saved me some moolah too

I like the sound of my borla, but I am just as curious about the LM2, so I will certainly put up a clip.
