    how much would it cost to get the Lt1 Rebuilt assuming it needed it

    really depends on what you want to have when you are done ..
    97 TA, M6, JBA ceramic coated headers, Borla Cat-back exhaust, 1.6 RR, 160 Thermo, LT4 knock sensor, CAI, Bils, Hotchkis all around, GT rotors, B&M shifter, Magnecor wires, Granatelli MAF
    In the shop LT4 Intake and heads.

      I think I'm wanting to mabye get some 1.6 rrs and all the other goodies for the top but keep the cam and bottom end stock

        You can easily spend $1500 on heads alone. A good quality short block is a couple thousand. If you are rebuilding it you might as well make it a 383 and put a bigger cam in it. I figure $3000 for the shortblock and another $1500 for heads. $4500 should get it done very nicely.

          Thanks for the help guys im just not sure I want to sacrifice gas mileage just yet. Im 17 and pay for everything on my own so i wouldnt be able to afford to drive it if I got 383 ( Although it would be about the baddest car in my neck of the woods) and I have the money to do it in my bank account from the money i made last summer

            You could always take a portion of your cash and work on things you will need to do should you get a 383 that don't involve the motor and thus not messing with your gas mileage. You could upgrade the brakes, suspension, etc. Do a few of them and save the rest until you are ready.
