I guess what makes it scary is that one would be listening to that day in and day out for eternity
I looked into this story further, and found the recording was from some oil drillers in Syberia. Apparently, the drill started wobbling when they got real deep which is the sign of a hollow area beneath the earth. They pulled the drill out and dropped a microphone down the hole. They use these microphones to detect shifting plates.

From what I've read on several websites (just type "sounds from hell" into Google or Yahoo), they also saw things that led them to believe it was truly the gates of Hell they had drilled into. Strange? Yes. Completely impossible? Not at this point. I'm a Catholic afterall...

BTW- Hell is supposed to be eternal suffering and torture and pain, isn't it? If a soul doesn't have nerve's, how could you feel pain?

According to the Bible, Hell is a place that is absent from the presence of God. It is the antithesis of Heaven (a place of great joy due to the immediate presence of God). The fact that there is no Godliness what-so-ever makes for a place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth....I dont think its physical pain one would experience, but spiritual pain (almost like emotional pain). I dont think we realize how important the existance of God is in our everyday lives......even if you are not a believer, His presence is still around us all of the time.

Also, there are quotes in certain chapters of the Bible about "our worm shall not die". This would lead us to believe we may still feel physical pain along with mental anguish. Either way, I'm doing everything I can to not find out.

Im just glad that I am not judged by WHAT I do. If so, I would dread experiencing the torture we've been talking about. In Romans it says that ALL have fallen short of God's glory....all have sinned (especially me ) and that the wages of sin is death.

The good news is that it is by GRACE that we have been saved, it is not of ourselves, it is a GIFT of God (EPH 2: 8,9). Our good works are filthy rags to God.....Im happy that I can't worry about whether or not im "good enough".....I just know im not

This is a serious question as I get a bit lost here... If we are not judged by WHAT we do, then what are we judged by? How we lived our lives as a whole? I should know this as I went to Catholic school for 8 years.

A lot of people think they're good people because they judge themselves based on what they don't do. I think that's a problem. We need to judge ourselves on what we do for other people, and from a religious standpoint, what we do for god. I guess. I dunno

Unfortunately, Satan's presence is also all around us in our every day lives, and seems to be increasing in intensity in recent years, causing more and more people to live in deception.

I haven't heard the recording yet (not sure that I want to), but I know that most things like that are hoaxes. On the other hand, it could be real, because anything is possible

To be honest, I don't go to church as much as I used to. I haven't been to confession in several years. Sad thing is, I live directly next door to my church. I may not be the best Catholic out there, but I try to be a good person. I'm hoping that's what I'll be judged upon. If not, I'll try to let you guys know if those sounds are real.

                              Guess nobody uses Snopes anymore.

I can only laugh when somebody tries to use foolishness like this to back their beliefs. If their is a real heaven and hell (we don't have to get into that again), it sure isn't in the earths core. If you are going to claim it is physically located their, you will need better evidence than that lame recording.

Hope they closed that hole, I super scared right now.

Well, we ARE judged by what we do if we do not have the Son (Jesus). The Bible says he who has the Son, has the life, he who does not have the Son, does not have the life.

If we stand judgement on our own merits, as good as they may seem to you and I, they are not good enough for the Holy God. We need to realize that we are nothing in the presence of God. His holiness is overwhelming. Who are we to say that we are worthy enough to spend eternity with the God of the universe? I am certainly not going to take that position.

If youve seen the movie "The Passion" then you saw a close depiction of the punishment Christ endured on our behalf. He was perfect and sinless, but He took on my sin and your's on the cross, so we would not have to stand judgement based on our own merits (remember ALL have fallen short according to Romans). He became THE sacrifice for sin. All we have to do is acknowledge and accept this overwhelming gift...realizing there is no other way to avoid this judgement (that started this whole thread). IF we do, then we are judged on Christs merits, not our own. God sees us through Christ. I, personally, believe this.

It doesnt matter if youre Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, etc. Christ died for all.

I have a hard time believing this recording is for real....but -the-less, I believe hell is a real place.....and the Bible does seem to indicate that it is in the belly of the earth. So, who knows?
