  • Thinking of selling my car

Well, to be honest I am about to sell it. I just lost two races and I won't mention here what kind of cars. It's too embarassing. My brother offered me a deal on it. I have fought the sc and quite frankly, have been rather unipressed with it. I must be the only one out there who's car runs like a N/A with an sc on it. I am putting in the posi 3:42's tomorrow. I have the CA headers now, but have no y-pipe. The muffler shop refuses to take a U and make an S out of it, because they said the welds will brake. If and when I get them on, and it doesn't wake up, it's outta here. I have a Ford Explorer AWD with a V8 in Kansas. I chased storms in it. It is still at my dad's house. I'll drive it again. Got the f- body blues......................

Before you give up on it, find a shop that has a chassis dyno and can edit the software. My guess is you should at least be as powerful as a V8 F-body. I think you have some serious tuning problems with the mods you have. I can give you the name of a guy here in Atlanta. I know it is a ways away and he is hard to get on a weekend. There should be someone down there who can do this.

Oh, Im just mad at it. I was going to delete my post, but too late. It just gets on my nerves. I lost two races today. I am hoping the gears help me out. That's tomorrows plan of action. Start at 8:00. I wish I could put my headers on. It bugs me to stare at them. I have two trans-go kits. $225 and gone for a day, have to wait. I ordered one, thought it wanst going to show up, so I got one, and sure enough it came in the mail.

                Jessica,

take your car to the track and find out what it runs. With that you should have in mind of what you can and cannot take on the street.

Don't give up. You've spent too much time, money and devotion. It's pointless to give up now.

A tune will wake your car up the most. My friends and i swapped a 99+ v6 stang motor into a 94 stang and put an ati procharger on it running 10psi. It had full exhaust including longtubes and all sorts of other goodies. When he got it dyno tuned the non-tuned run came up with 200rwhp. Once it was tuned he was pushing out 301rwhp and 374rwtq. SO much faster than before the tune. So my advice... is a tune... dyno tune.

Well thanks for the inspiration, but now my 3:42 rear end I just put in thumps really bad. SOunds horrible. I just don't get it . we did everything right. I had two seasoned mechanics helping me. We did not overlook anything. It sounds like someone is hitting the passenger underside of the car at the rear with a mallet. One thing after another....... It's the small bumps it does it. RR tracks it didn't . We looked again, and nothing loose. Exaust etc. HELP ME PLEASE before I set it on fire and collect the insurance.

Calm down, it may be something as simple as your shocks being shot. My car makes a loud noise when I go over bumps because of it. Just bought some KYB adjustable shocks on ebay and eibach pro kit springs though so itll be gone soon

I see mods in your sig. Give more details. What fuel injectors? Computer tune? Other fuel mods? Etc... Saying you have a supercharger sounds good and looks good on paper, but if the computer isn't tuned for it, and if the fuel isn't there it's just disaster. If you didn't do it right, your car won't run right.

                          Now more on this s/c.

Ok, here it is: Stock 3.8, sc with 10:1 FMU 6lbs boost. LSD 3:42's. I have headers, but I have not put them on yet. I have a spare PCM. I have not had it tuned yet, I was until the header install. NGK TR6 plugs @ .035. SC set up on the stock airbox. BOV on output tube as well as the MAF sensor. Have a trans go kit that needs to be installed also. F/P, A/F and boost gauges. There ya go. Oh, stock injectors. I still seem ok in the fuel department. I see rich at WOT.

Mention what kinda cars beat you so I have an idea of how you're running. You are on a stock tune, that can't be good. The stock computer is not made for forced indcution. Get it tuned for it. You might have an air leak. An air leak on a FI car = HUGE loss of power. Any black smoke out your tails? I wonder how the stock MAF takes to boost... I wonder how your stock MAF takes to boost... Give me a pic of your engine bay. I would get that car intercooled, too. The stock exhaust system is probably restricting it too. You have a ton more air going in, and a stock N/A flowing exhaust.

Look at it like a straw. You're blowing through a straw. It's ok to an extent, but put some boost behind your blowing... Get my point? The headers will help.

It sounds like a sloppy install, and it wasn't thought through by who did it. You need more than just a S/C to supercharge a car the right way.

Stock airbox? That's crazy. Get a K&N cone filter and hard pipe on there asap.

                              PICS PICS PICS.
