You get to conversing with someone either at work or perhaps at the gas station and they see that you have a hot rod.......... the topic of cars come up and they feel compelled to tell you that their last car, a stock 84 V6 Camaro was clocked at 185 mph by the highway patrol and that he was able to outrun them and never got a ticket.

    Morons.

Got this one twice when my Formula was fairly new.....

      "Why'd ya buy the V-6?"

I guess the font on the "Formula V8" sticker wasn't real clear

One of my biggest pet peeves was right before I bought the car, some overly-nosy relatives thought it would be fun to point out "You know... You have three kids. You can't fit them in that car"! I have three kids??? I can't fit them in there??? Really??? I guess the Bravada and Explorer we own aren't suitable either. Now those same people are calling this car my mid-life crisis. They all agree I'll sell it when I "grow up".

Jealousy is a terrible thing. I should point out that most of the relatives saying these things aren't, and never were car fanatics. Always drove "sensible" cars. They will never understand the concept of a weekend car. Oh well. I guess with this hobby comes criticism from those who will never get it.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up and totally worn out, loudly proclaiming......WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!

Well I must admit it does kinda look like a V with a 6 behind it at first glance in the photo. The other thing to realize is in this day and age people rarely take a good look at anything. They are in to much of a hurry.

Didn't you hear?!?!? Kids are bigger now than they used to be! That's why we have to resort to SUV's and minivans.

I personally get sick of being asked "Is that a V6 or a V8?" Mainly cause I hate having to answer that it is a V6, but also cause there are no markings that say Z-28 or SS on the car. I also hate always hearing my wife's family joking about how anal I am about the car. They can't seem to understand a person wanting to keep a car clean, or getting bent out of shape when it gets scratched or when a drink gets spilled in it, etc. Some people just don't and will never understand the idea of wanting to keep something looking brand new. Or the concept of a car being more than "just a car."

I've had a guy say "is that a standard?" me: "yeah, 6 speed". Him: "why would you get a standard? who likes "rowing the boat" all the time. I almost fell down with the wave of stupidity. Other things that get to me is someone knows someones dad's nephew who has a faster car. Had a guy come in to work telling me he was looking at Mazda 6's. And i'm like. Those are nice cars, if your implying you can take my WS6 your on crack. Other things are when people say "i hear guys buy cars like that to make up for something ". Me: Uuummm, believe what you want but i gaurantee if I throw you the keys to it your not going to throw them back". My buddy knows how to get me going too. I parked next to a 94 or 5 Mustang and he says "why are you parking here, so you can be seen next to a cooler car " but he says it with a smirk knowing the real deal. just does it to rev my engine. Last one. I have guys all the time ask me if such and such car is faster and i either respond yes or no. And they are like "how do you know". I know because i do tons of research on all the new and up and coming cars, 0-60, top speed etc. Maybe i come off as being arrogent. OOps just remembered one last last story. Last year my ex girlfriend is in my car with her dog (how i let that happen i don't know, the power of women!!! ). Anyways, she has a chain leash.........we're going about 50 or 60....she wants to see if the chain will "fly" in the wind out the window. . It didn't fly and came crashing down on the side of the door . Same night she throws a ball for my roomates dog covered in drool. The drool pics up all these rocks off the driveway and she pics it up and throws it...next to my car. Rocks come off and crash on to my car . Almost had a heart attack that day. We broke up about 2-3 weeks later and a sigh of relief came over me and my car. P.S. no scratches but high blood pressure!!!!!!!!!!

. . . it's the "Trans-warp drive" (hey, it's a Trans, it drives, and you're -- like the rest of us -- probably warped) and that you are returning to the Planet Syzygy right after the cruise.

Anyway, whenever I go somewhere with this one friend of mine, he always comments on how stupid it is that I have to park so far away. He claims someone will key my car because of it. I'm like "Dude, I'm not hurting anyone by being this far away. I'm not parked crooked. If anything, I'm leaving the front spots open for people like you who could care less about their car".

yeh i do the same thing. i remeber the first day i had the car some lady knocks my door with hers, looks at me shrugs her shoulders and say "it coulda been worse" and walks away!!!
