  • mass airflow sensor

I have a question about my mass airflow sensor. I have the slp 01-02 sensor and it is apparently broken. I took my car to the dealership and they said it has gone bad. I am getting a new one in about a week or so. Should I take it off and put the stock(still good) one on or leave it for now. My car is running rich from this problem. It puts out some black smoke when I get on it. Any input will be appreciated as always.

I dont know what performance mods you have on your car, but if their isnt anything that really requires a higher flowing maf, than putting the stock one on is probobly a good idea, because with a malfunctioning MAF you will take a hit i gas mileage (probobly) becuase the computer isnt getting the proper air readings. So if it isnt a problem to get on, just pop the stocker back on there.

put the stock one back on. all that does is "fool" the PCM reading from the maf to think the air is 30 degrees cooler....
