  • Budget Rotating Assembly, Good Choice?

I want to do a 383 stroker set up when I do my rebuild, but I'm on a stiff budget. I found this rotating assembly on ebay for $750, and was wondering if this would be a good set up. Heads will consist of Advanced Induction econo port LT4 heads matched to ported LT4 Intake and a conservative cam (daily driver). My goal is a reliable, daily driven 500 Flywheel HP motor. Car will see the track a few times and will not see boost of juice. What do you guys think? Also, what compression ratio should I look for?

Not enough info there, but the low $$$ would indicate its probably a cast crank. And no info at all on the rods other than 5.7". Find out exactly what crank and rods are included. I would also question the inclusion of the "high volume" oil pump. Most people find the stock LT1 pump (with a high pressure spring) is the best solution to oiling the LT1. The HV pumps can cause problems with low oil levels in the pan.

In any case, this would be a very basic kit, for a moderate level NA application. It wouldn't be the best choice for a "power adder" application like nitrous or a blower.

Ok, I finally got a response from him. The crank is a scat 3.75 stroke, 1 piece rear seal, 5.7 rod length. He didnt mention wether it was forged or not, but it's obviously not. There are no rods included. Does this still sound like an ok deal?
