2000 Firebird tune up

2000 V6 Firebird auto
Alrighty. my car only has 60k on the clock, but from the recent mis-fires its been having i think i should do the 100k tune up NOW.
first Q: how do I remove the spark plug wires? they have a little metal insulator around the boot, do i pull on that or do i pull on the boot?
second Q: which plugs/wires should i go with? i was thinking using NGK plugs since they work well on my daily driver.

any and all info/help is appreciated!

if 3800's are any hard as LS1's be ready for some cursing and bruised knuckles...not to mention a few hours.

the metal insulators must be removed before pulling the wire.

NGKTR55's are fine and probably most popular.

they wont be nearly as hard as doing it on an LS1 TA. i can touch all 6 with my hands, and i can get my socket in there without too much gumby-action.

do the metal insulators just pull off? i dont want to pull too hard and break somtin, LOL

that reminds me...I believe 2000+ V6 f-bods got tubular exhaust manifolds. So if that's any indication, it should be easier.
