You have no idea how sharing a place to call home can reveal issues that you might have otherwise overlooked. If yu can handle 6 months and not feel the need to kill eachother, you'll likely be ok.
Bah, statistics mean nothing. The average teenage relationship lasts 3 months. I'm going on 3 years. We're also part of the small percentage of teenagers that don't smoke and have never even tried drinking. I'll agree with you on living together for 6 months. We've spent a few days together and it was great.

If she was able to tolerate her family for the last 17 1/2 years, she'll have no problems living with me. If she makes me angry, I can just go hit the heavy bag or tell her to shaddap and get in the car, then take a nice relaxing cruise down the freeway (by this then I'll be in my new and improved monster of an LT1 T/A ). It's impossible for me to stay angry with her for any period of time though. She never gets on my bad side. I just have random anger fits from time to time where I hate everything for no reason. We're perfect for each other in every way.

        Double edged sword

My grandma made me an offer, but it's a double edged sword. She said that I can leave the Trans Am on the side of her house since there's a ton of room there that no one uses. Then I'd be able to get a Civic to use while the T/A sits on cinder blocks on the side of her house. That sounds great to me as I'd finally be able to work on my car. I'd have to get it high enough so that I could get under the car to work on the exhaust and driveshaft and such. I'd finally be able to install a cat back, headers, change my sparkplugs with relative ease, change the driveshaft and fix my darned intake manifold. The problem is that every time I go over to my grandparents' house (which is very often) I'll have to look at my poor Trans Am, just dying to be driven This might do me good however. I can fix my window, change my tranny fluid, change the clutch and do some other stuff that I couldn't really do in the street in front of my house.

What is your opinion my F brethren?

I meant DON'T smoke or drink (had a feeling there was a typo involved). I didn't think you were referring to a post that came from a few days ago either.

Thanks by the way. That was a pretty bad mess up on my part. Sorry man!

If you're given an area away from the street, I would go for it. Just make sure you stabilize it in the air. A fireman in my town the other day while working on his Jeep. He didn't have the jack stands in the right spot and it fell on top of him.

I'm thinking I'll drive the car for the summer, then when autumn rolls around I'll get a Civic. When you guys start storing your cars for the winter I'll switch it up.

Dont get married runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!! Kidding lol.. Something about putting on Ttops when it didnt come like that from the factory doesnt feel right. Even from the factory they leak. I cant imagine how much there going to leak when you do it yourself or by someone. Especially after the car has aged and been tweaked all over the place...If you put some serious power behind the wheel arent you going to start tweaking that chassis? I believe thats why all my TTops leaked due to the power and the constant heavy foot. The sole reason why I decided to order my bird without the T tops this time.

I don't know. Maybe you have bad luck. I had an 88 Forumla with t tops and I swear to you, everything was wrong with this car. Everything. My t tops never leaked a drop though. I don't think this (the t top install) will be happening until next year. I think headers and a good cat back (I'm thinking the SLP Loudmouth II) are my priority. Maybe some suspension work after that.

I might be moving with my grandparents in the coming years, and if so, my girlfriend is coming with us. She loves the older Monte SS's, so we'll probably get one when we move. I'll make sure to get one with t tops. A t top install is still a possibility on my car though. A very big possibility. I think it would be stupid of me not to look further into this though, since there is the possibility that they'll leak.

I just changed the serpentine belt, still have to change the oil and now I have to look for that skip shift eliminator I ordered a while back. I can't believe I almost took my car to the gas station to have them change my belt. My stepdad kept telling me that he wasn't able to do his on his truck, and he has a lot more room to work than I do. The longest part was finding the right size wrench to go on the idler pulley (13mm). After that it took me a matter of 5 minutes, if that. Steve, thanks for talking me into doing it myself. I would have kicked myself in the face if I found out how easy it is to do after paying a gas station $50 to change it for me.

It's not very intimidating to look at now that I'm under the car. I think I should be able to handle a header install in a few months, plus I'm actually able to see the plug wires now. Well, I'd best get back out there.

I love the old Monte SS's I had an 87 Monte Carlo SS with the 350. I loved the fact that it was big, but its size is a big killer, and a lot of engine has to be performed for good power, and definately suspension work. But as an everyday cruiser that car was beautiful I was upset to let it go.

I read that they really only weigh 3,400lbs or so. I had an 86 V6 Monte Carlo and that thing felt like I was driving a house, so I know what you mean. I still find it hard to believe that they aren't close to 4,000lbs.

Hey, glad I could help . The problem with the plugs and wires isn't so much that its hard, its just tedious as all get out. Give yourself enough time, Neosporin and Band-Aids and you'll be fine lol . And yes, the belt is definitely not worth paying $50 to have someone do it...I'da kicked ya in the head lol j/k

                                wow..

we went from t-tops install to targa to something about a honda civic, then marriage a couple things about a grandparents house...a few more things and back to t-tops...this is so cool..lol but getting back to the real subject, i like how the targa tops looks. correct me if i'm wrong but isnt the targa top on the supra on the fast and the furious? im pretty positive that is it. I think that would be awesome. I would def. do that. But chassis twist is a major factor. So why not just get like a 8 point roll cage and a k member? stiffin that chassis right back up i think!
