I am looking around for any after market spoilers for my Formula, and there really isnt much options out there. The only one I found that seemed decent was one called the Custom Wrap on Buyspoilers.com. This spoiler just gets attached to the stock one on my Formula. I am not to crazy about it, but I definitely need one because when I run the car at high speeds I can definitely feel my rear swaying, and not really planted on the ground. I want to get one so that it gets done with the rest of my car. Look it up and let me know what you think of that spoiler? And if any of you guys know of any other nice looking spoilers out there I can buy. Let me know fellas. I ordered the ram air hood from Ramairhood.com with the airbox. I looked around that seemed like a good choice, and as close to OEM as I can get too. Anyone ordered from them before? Car is going in next Wed I am excited cant wait to see it all done up new again.

Maybe your tires dont have insufficient tread or performance ability or could be something suspension related too. Let's be honest how often are you really going to be going 120 or 130? The one on the sight doesnt really look that much different than the stock one, I'm not sure how much it's really going to do for you in the way of downforce, though it will add some extra weight in the back.-Dan

Your right wont be very often that I drive that fast, but regardless how often I do it on and off the track I would like to be confident my tail is planted on the ground. The suspension being installed will drop it an inch, but I want looks and functional, and a good wing makes all the difference. If you can find a road that gives you the opportunity to open up your F Body go for it, and you will feel the difference. I have had the pleasure of opening up a 2002 WS6 TA the car definitely has better stabilty at the top end then mine. The suspension is no different then mine because I ordered my car with the upgraded suspension package. I will give a try to see if that wing really will make a difference I will post it then.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2317021/1

Actually, even with the upgraded suspension package, a WS6 will still have slightly better components from the factory. What size are your wheels/tires at the present moment?
As far as the spoiler goes, I still think with the Formula spoiler, you should be able to hold the road just fine. It's still a substantial wing. I don't have any hard numbers to show, but I would guess it might even hold the road a bit better than the WS6 "high wing" because there is no flow-through underneath it. The air has nowhere to go but on the wing itself. Just a guess though.
By the way, welcome to the boards.SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed

Thank 02 I am glad to be here. Its a shame I never got on alot sooner.. I have the 17 in polished rims with Fuzion tires 225 40 17 at around 33 PSI. There is a close up pic not sure how good you can see it. These are w rated tires and perform quite well surprisingly. When the 18s go on I plan to switch to the G Force KD since this is only a sunny day car. That wing I spoke of extends up and out about 3 inches both ways with no gaps. I am hoping that combined with the drop in suspension, tires, and that wing it will plant my rear a lot better. We will see how it does on the track. What do you think of the SPoiler though? Does it look Good?http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2317021/1

Their extension is more tasteful.

If you don't already have one I highly recommend the 21mm sway bar. It will keep the rear and planted pretty good in tight turns. I have one and noticed a world of difference in handling.

Thanks I ordered the Suspension package from Jegs, Comes with Eibach springs, KyB shocks, and 2 designer swaybars Hmm trying to figure out the name cant remember. All new joints, Tie rods, and gromets comes with the package too. Hopefully this set up will definately improve its handling capabilities.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2317021/1

Seems odd that it would get unstable at those speeds. I trap close to 130mph, meaning I'm at or above 130mph as I cross the finish line, and even with big ugly slicks with 12-15psi, and a suspension that's set up strictly for straight line traction, the car is solid as a rock at those speeds.
Maybe you need to consider a custom spoiler.... I doubt that the add-on stuff from Mecham or Wings West has any sort of testing behind it.... its all for looks.
Are you sure your tires aren't 275/40-17? A 225/40-17 would be more than 1.5" smaller diameter than the stock tires.Fred

Injuneer I would be happy to find a custom spoiler, but there really isout there. There is this one big ugly high riser one I am definately not getting that one. That one that Wings West offered (Out Of business now) the same one that on Buyspoilers.com is the only decent looking one I found. This has got to provide some kind of downforce better then the little stock lip I have on it.

If you are running 225's, that's one of the main components as to why the rear end is a little jumpy at speed. As others have posted, 275's are what you should be running. That will keep the rear of the car planted nicely, especially coupled with the 21mm sway bar.SOLD: 2002 Trans Am WS.6 - Black on Black - 6 Speed

You Know what your absolutely right I am running 275 40 17. I am still confusing the old Pirellis I had on it on with different rims. The new rims are 18/8.5 chrome and the tires it seems to call for is 245 40 18.. I havent bought the tires. The new rims I bought are the American Racing rims called Rogue in chrome. They werent to expensive but look very nice. I looking to get the the G force KD's to match them up. Hopefully that keeps me planted. I am glad I am not the only one that likes to run 150+ all the time lol.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2317021/1
