I dont know why your comparing V6 cars to a 4 banger. MY Cobalt SS is a 171 horse power 4 cylinder. Now research the 4 cylinder Toyotas and Hondas and repost and get back to me with that.

Per the specifications, the Cobalt is right up there with the japanese cars. I still say you need to get yours looked at if you're only pulling in mid 20's on the highway. That intermittant SES light isn't coming on because it wants to. There's something wrong.

They don't. At least not correctly. It will run, but it will have substantially less power.

There was a guy in highschool we used to hang out with who was trying to get some insurance money or a new motor or something to that effect. Anyway, he completely drained his plain old conventional oil with absolutely no addtives in his 1992 Chevy pickup with a TBI 350. Then he purposely drove the hell out that truck for a while fully expecting the motor to grenade any time. He ended up driving that truck with no oil for over a week before it finally tied a rod bearing up.

I suspect it has little to do with the type of additives or type of oil, and more so the bearing clearances and journal runouts from the factory.....and maybe a little luck.

Got my K&N filter today and installed it. I filled the tank to start it from scratch. My economy was at 21.6 a gallon. I drove to my ladies house 35 miles economy was at 22.0 when I got here. So some improvement lets see how good it does at the end of the tank.
